  1. Could you explain this. Before you where regenerated did you not say these same things in your heart, and by your actions. Some are just more bold, and say it with thier mouth. I believe the fact that the 'person' calls will lead you to do an inquiry of the heart. Why do you feel the way you do would be your question. (Though being man we would express suprise at such bold statements) Then you would present yourself as a one whom 'the person' has a misconception about. I do believe that is what God does with such honesty of heart. This is taken from the book The Kneeling Christian, from the chapter 'Who May Pray'. It is a wonderful example of honesty of heart, and God rewarding that honesty. I pray that we may all have such honesty before God in all things. Faith is a gift something that Jesus is the Author of. One cant have faith until they have agreed/believed into Christ Believing is somthing that man can do. It is our agreement. I suppose this reply was intended for me. What would be my reaction to a phone call like that -- I would think they were batty or drunk/doped, I guess. What would you think to receive a phone call like that? My reaction would be much different hearing someone make a statement like that about God. They need compassion and a reason to hope. I believe everyone who sincerely seeks God will find Him for it's not His Will that any should perish but that all would come to the knowledge of truth. Actually that response was not for you. Man was responding to someone else, and I responded to him. What led you to believe that comments were for you. I have no idea.
  2. I think all things work towards good to them that love and serve Him as the Bible says. We grow through tribulation and trials so they have their purpose. We come to the point of feeling the peace in His love no matter what life throws our way after a time. He is our only refuge.

  4. Christianity is based on faith. That's why science can't prove it or disprove it. God searches the heart and knows them who are sincerely seeking Him.
  5. We live in a sin cursed world and because of it the sun as well as the rain befalls us all.
  6. Never sell yourself short. Lead by example. Sometimes our actions speak louder than anything we could have ever said. I wholeheartedly agree!
  7. I agree it is a two-way street but I have to be honest, speaking as a man... ...it confuses me when women who expose themselves act shocked when men stare. I try to be pure of mind but it is hard in certain enviroments. I lock out the "bad" channels on my satelite but it is hard to lock out trips to Wal-mart. Amen, brother, I hear ya. One guy says he prays for the woman that God will save her or show her how wrong she is if she's already saved. It would help if Pastors would preach on these subjects. People seem more inclined to listen to them rather than an ordinary person like me.
  8. I agree.
  9. When taking Scripture out of context you won't get right meaning of it. It's by the mercies of God that we are saved at all. He has to be bidding us to come, to repent and accept Christ as our Saviour. He surely gives us a measure of faith at that time or we couldn't be saved. I agree with whoever it was that said, it's up to us to build on that faith.
  10. We can't lay all the blame on men or say they just have a dirty mind. We need to do our part by dressing decently. The Scripture comes to mind, "Am I my brother's keeper?"
  11. This statement seems to imply that women don't have a mind of their own when it comes to dressing themselves. You want to blame somebody......blame the devil. Everybody's responsible for their own actions. A lot of the women I know feel pressured to dress to please their husbands; hopefully, to try and keep his eyes from roaming. We also feel like we have to look as good as the "world" and it shouldn't be that way. Many churches are just too worldly also. We really have a lot to consider but I feel if we all or just part of us would stop and dress like we feel a Christian should - I mean there is courage in numbers. God Bless I don't mean to sound harsh or rude, but you shouldn't worry about what other people think. If you want to dress the way you feel a christian should dress, then do it. Who cares what the world thinks. The world isn't going to be standing next to you when you're standing in front of the Lord. It's gonna be just you and Him. Think about that. Just because we live in this world, doesn't mean we have be a part of it. Again, I apologize if my words have a bite.....I don't know how else to put it. No problem. I do dress the way I feel God would have me to but I understand the peer pressure that women are under.
  12. I agree with you 'glory2000' there needs to be more modesty in our society both men and women. If one don't know what modesty is then it is "Cover It Up" it not really about what you wear or don't wear but it is about keeping it covered. OC I'm all for more modest dress for men and women. I just don't think women should be responsible for men's thoughts. Nor should men think that they are not immodest when they dress in very little. What about causing us women to stumble? Huh? Yes, I've seen men dress inappropiately too. Pants too tight, muscle shirts or no shirt at all.

  14. Yes, I agree. One can't tell the Christian from the sinner a lot of the time.
  15. If you notice in Romans where Paul refers to faith. He was speaking to other believers, so all of them to whom he was speaking had a measure of faith. IMO
