  1. Christianity is pretty tolerant compared to other religions. We are tolerant because we do not kill people just because they are infidels, or because they do not believe in our religion. We do not kill hundreds of innocent people in the name of our God, we do not get angry and start murderous rampages everytime someone posts a picture of God or Jesus Christ on a wall or in a comic book. Jesus was pretty tolerant from my perspective, and from what I have read. Sure, it seems pretty intolerant to a lot of people who do not approve of us, but in general I would never blow myself up for the sake of God. He gave me my life - so why waste it?
  2. Hi. I was curious to know if we are allowed to post links to videos on GodTube. Unlike YouTube, it is a Christian-only video site and has the same Christian videos as YouTube but without some stuff that is rude or offensive in the "More Videos" section.
  3. Hi, everyone. I would appreciate if the topic would stay within the original question (above), and not go off track and into potential debates. I would just like to keep this on track and not go into a "he-said, she-said" thing so thanks for anymore information on the subject matter.
  4. Yes, I know there are ones like that. But also notice I didn't say "All" of the Christians in the world are not committed to Jesus. I was only speaking of the specific party of Christians who aren't, not those who are.
  5. I agree with your statement. There are many people who are more committed to things other than Jesus Christ and the gospel. Even though Tom Cruise is dealing in Scientology, look at how much faith and belief he has in it. Why can't a lot of Christians have the same stead-fast hold in Christ and the gospel as someone in Scientology, etc?
  6. I found the following at this site. If you do some research on the net, you will see that they want nothing to do with God.
  7. I agree with you, Giaour. If God meant for a "code" to be put in the Bible, why hasn't anyone else figured it out now?
  8. Wow, that bold part is enough to turn my stomach. I agree with you - this is not a "religion". This is just another sick scam that's pleasing on the outside but rotten on the inside.
  9. Well...I have to say, I am still terribly confused. I didn't even watch half of the video because it just didn't make any sense. So - what is in the video that Scientology is trying to suppress and not show to the world? To me, it sounded like a bunch of blah. In my opinion, they are getting all their attention because of the fact Tom Cruise is in it. And what's with all the criticism over Tom? If he wants to be a Scientologist, that's his problem, not mine. Really, can someone help me over here?
  10. Thank you, Scarletprayers!
  11. Considering the large amount of threads on Christian forums about Scientology, I've come to ask the question what is so unacceptable about Scientology. I look at these threads and posts that talk about it being something considerably evil, etc, but there is really no explanation of what it is that is so...horrible. Unless I am not looking correctly, or people are just overreacting over nothing, I'm still going to become confused. Thanks for any clarifications! ~Near~
  12. I've noticed many people talking about Scientology...but what IS it about Scientology that is so unacceptable? That is what is confusing me more than the Scientology. What is it? I need an explanation. ~Near~
  13. I think before we can say we love or don't love anyone, we need a working definition of love. I mean, what does she mean when she uses that word? I agree with Shiloh. (In my opinion) Everyone has a different definition of what love is. The same with people's idea of God's love. I'd have to say - how many people are there in this world who only see God's love as showering you with money, cars, and whatever you want? I can't count the number, big or small, but there are some people who see it this way. Love is not something you just say like "Oh, I love such-and-such, blah blah", and you can't "buy" love. Love is a lot more than just materialistic things, it's something you have...something...special, I guess. Like my love for God for example. I don't just love God because of what He does for me, I love God because He loves me, and because I have faith in Him even when I cannot see him. I've met a couple of people on forums who said "Oh, I love you because you are so nice!" etc and then became oddly nasty, even mean, to me. This may or may not be the case for many people, but you also have to factor in the internet. It is an anonymous community, so, you can act, say, and be whoever you like. Well, hope that helps a bit . lol ~Near~
  14. Hm, I see. I agree. From the first few words I was surprised it was even called "best-selling".
  15. Well, as I was surfing through Wikipedia, doing some research on a number of items, I came across the link to The Bible Code, a series of controversial books by Michael Drosnin. I am quite skeptical and it probably has raised some eyebrows (no doubt that is why Wikipedia labeled it "controversial"), but, I am up to read books like these just to test out these authors. What got me was about the extraterrestrial beings that supposedly made the "code". I would like to see some comments from anyone who has read this book, and also "Why or Why not" information on this. For the article: http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bible_Code *Please move if needed* Thanks! Near
  16. Angel, I agree with you. Sometimes, you have to also think that a lot of those people who come to Christian boards picking fights over normal discussions are really not "Christian". And, a lot of times, many Christians are just rude. And I agree with you on God. God is very capable of saving the world, He created us right? So, He can save the Earth too and everything around it. We are here not only to do God's Will but to spread the Word. We shouldn't even be worried about people's opinions - everyone has one, and it is not like we're going to all die because of that one opinion. I'm glad you feel better. God bless.
  17. please move if needed United States Economy: do you believe it is doing good or bad? Explain. How do you see the economy for the US? I am not really sure about it myself, I have to go between a good/bad decision - there have been a lot of foreclosure homes in my area, and many business chains are going out-of-business. My grandfather says it is doing good - how? I do not know. My grandmother agrees it is not looking so up-to-par, and with the recent all-time lows in the Stock Market...who knows what may happen? Any ideas or examples? I am curious to know.
  18. It kind of looks to me like someone sitting down getting tea. Has anyone seen President Bush? It could be him, on Mars, trying to think about the Earth from a very safe distance...with a spacesuit on the color of the rocks! Anyhow, it's a bit of a creepy figure. It is obviously just going to be more evidence for the hopeful crowd who want to believe in extraterrestial beings.
  19. This was such a beautiful story. That just shows that there are people out there who put others first! This woman loved her son so much that she died for him! God allowed her to stay alive to see him, and then He took her so she wouldn't have to suffer anymore. It is a lot like Jesus. He came down here in a physical body, and died for our sins. He thought of all of us and loved us, and there are a lot of people here just like Him. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. I pray that God blesses the man and his children.
  20. I agree with all of you! God is wonderful...there is no one else like Him. This is for Him: I love you God, and I always WILL!
  21. What a nice post, Near! It's good for us to contemplate our love for the Lord. I'll bet everyone who posts on this topic is smiling...just like I am now. Thank you, glory! ^^ God loves me more than I can love Him, and I don't even have to do anything special for Him to love me! God listens to me all the time, I can go to Him in my home, on a plane, in the car...and He forgives me when I ask Him to. What isn't there to love about the Heavenly Father? Amen! Yes, Amen!

  23. What do you love about God? I love Him because He loves me, and the He protects me everyday and that He is always there for me...and that He sent His Son down for me and died for my sins!
  24. IMO, I say go for what you feel most comfortable with and what is easy for you to understand. My personal favorites are the ones I like to read and let me understand the best. Like New King James Version, New Living Translation, and the New International Version
  25. Any favorites? I posted this on another forum and it was pretty good, so I thought I'd put it here. You can post your favorite book, scripture, verse, sentence, saying, word, etc. from the Bible here. And even your favorite version of the Bible, like King James Version, New King James, etc. My favorite Book in the Bible is Genesis, Revelation, and John at the moment now - though I love to read the whole Bible, those are the ones I usually start reading first. My favorite version has to be New Living Translation; KJ is OK, but after a while, the Shakespeare script can get a little confusing for me!
