  1. What also happens is that the preachers who use it as such are not following the premise of it in that they get cold cash but the people who put in for it have to relate to providence to recieve theirs.
  2. So many people even pastors take one verse and read by itself it means something completely different. This is one of those cases. When I bakcup a bit and put it into contrext it takes on a different meaning. I think its saying, how we treat other people is how we will be treated. Agree. The standard, or golden rule is to treat another person as you would wish to be treated yourself (6:31) But if we love by the world's standards, namely giving love only to those who love us, we are still on the level of sinners (6:32-33) and no reward is offered, for we are operating on a purely natural level. The great reward is reserved for those who love when there is no hope of a return of love in kind or otherwise, when the gift of love is a pure gift.

    To Endure!

These are amazing stories of endurance that the home churches of China are enduring. http://www.backtojerusalem.com/ Not only are they enduring but they are also evangelizing in the Muslum/Hindu/Buddist areas between China and Jerusalem, areas that are the least evangelized in the world. Some amazing stories. I'm just reading the book "Back to Jerusalem" from the church library....wow
  4. Only in Prescot Arizonea could such a thing happen
  5. The zero response to this is discouraging to say the least.
  6. My mom's side of the family is from Scotland and the oldest child would have the middle name of the mother's maiden name. That was how they kept track of the records of descendents.
  7. Anyway, I think that's what Jesus meant in the Revelation 2-3 address to the churches not only not leave the 1st love but also sort tradition from doctrine when He was talking about the Nicolations, etc.
  8. Stepping stones or Foundation stones? I'm always amazed at how God works. Often there are two roads ahead, one that seems right and the one that says "this is the way" I feel blessed that God has givin oppurtunity for seeds to be planted. One sows, one waters, and one harvests. Foundations are made and others build on them. The important thing is to sort out what is the patterns of stepping stones and what are the foundation stones. Usually traditions will hold the essence of a truth as the means of preserving but we must all do the work building, no one can do it for us. Our mothers gave us milk but now we are grown. Standing firm on the foundations keeps us from being tossed to and fro. And building on the foundations gives us access to the treasures of heaven. There's a story of a carpenter who was ready to retire and his employer asked him to just build one more house before leaving. He did but his heart wasn't in it so he didn't do it with all the talent that he had, for he was a masterbuilder. Upon retiring the employer said" For all you have done for me I'm giving you this last house you built as a gift from me to you" For us to build what we will live in for eternity, great care must be taken, for we have God given talents too. Build so others can build on the foundation of Christ, for there is no other, but also, each of us must do the building for ourselves for no one can do it for us.
  9. Psalm 34:6-7 (NKJV) 6 This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. This psalm shows it's an angel of the Lord who delivers them but that's also used to define Christ. Nebechanezzar was about to have a lot of dealings with the Lord so I think it's quite possible that he could have been given a revelation.
  10. Words these days have been so taken out of context to mean so many different things that its hard not to offend w/o realizing it at times. Unity to me is a careful balance of motive and forgiveness for all Psalm 130:3-5 3 If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? 4 But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared. 5 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.
  11. I found this bookmark in a used bible that I purchased. It says it all for me. I wonder about who owned the bible before me every time I read it. My Bible and I We've travelled together My Bible and I, Through all kinds of weather with smile or with a sigh! In sorrow or in sunshine, in temptest or calm! Thy friendship unchanging my lamp and my Psalm. We've travelled together my Bible and I, when life had grown weary, and death e'en was nigh! But all through the darkness of mist or of wrong, I found there a solace, a prayer and a song. So now who shall part us? My Bible and I? Shall "isms" or "schisms" or "new lights" who try? Shall shadow for substance, or stone for good bread, supplant thy sound wisdom, give folly instead? Ah, no, my dear Bible, exponent of light! Thou sword of the Spirit, put error to flight! And still thru life's journay, until my last sigh, we'll travell together, my Bible and I.
  12. And He rewards those who diligently seek Him with more of Him. amen!
