  1. Yea.  Tell the kids their parents are doing what parents should be doing, and monitoring their activities.  Not that I wouldn't tell them anyway.  But what is Google's ultimate goal?  Circumvent and undermine parent's authority on raising their kids based on what an ungodly organization (UN, UK government, any government or platform) based on the notion that they know better than the parents?  These same groups are all for grooming kids in the most perverted ideology of LGBTQ+666 and any other anti-God, anti-family, anti-Christian thinking out there.

    Jesus come quickly!

  2. I would never, ever administer something of the sort to anyone.  How do you know they are overdosing?  Could it be they are having an epileptic seizure?  Could it be they are suffering from anaphylactic shock because they got exposed or stung?  I ain't no doctor, but I know to call 911 and move stuff away until those who are trained arrive.

  3. Time for me to ask a new question that may touch on some either positively or negatively.  But I must ask.  Many times when we have pets or other animals that we take care of die, at some point some will say they are in heaven waiting for us or they went to a better place.  Many a preacher/pastor has said that animals will go to heaven when they die, and reference this verse:

Acts 10:11 - 12: And saw (Peter) heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, and it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth.  Where in were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air

Now I know of a couple of pastors when a young child asks, "Is my kitty in heaven?"  And the pastor replies, "No, your kitty does not have a soul, and it cannot believe in God and Jesus Christ.  Therefore, your kitty is not in heaven."  I have to ask myself, "is this true or is something being taken out of context?"  God created all manner of critters (yes, even creepy-crawling spiders and cockroaches) but does that mean once they die, that's it?  Maybe I'm being too sensitive about it myself, but it seems out of sorts that God would create all manner of beasts and such and when they die, that's it.  They are dead.  Curtains down, lights out.  No more.  I believe that all critters, when they die, God does have a place for them.  Maybe not the heaven we think of that those who truly have believed and giving themselves over to God and Jesus Christ, but there is a place God has created for critters whose time has come.  Where there is no suffering.  No worrying about being hunted.  They live in a paradise of critters.

Though it would be nice to hang out with a tiger and a polar bear while petting a penguin all at the same time.

  4. Matthew 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.  Many a preacher and pastor has used this verse as an example that rich people cannot enter heaven.  Yet these same preachers/pastors are always telling you that you need to give to receive the blessings of God (Kenneth Copeland, Jessie Duplantis and Creflo Dollar just to name a few).  What these same preachers/pastors fail to mention (if they really understand or know themselves) is that in Luke 16-19, when the rich man died and Lazarus had died, Lazarus was with Abraham in heaven and the rich man was in hell.  Now think about this.  Abraham was one of the richest men alive during his time.  Yet he served God and kept focusing on serving God during his lifetime.  These verses are used constantly to show that being rich "is evil" and being poor "is good,"  yet they are constantly telling you and me and everyone else that you have to give to receive.  There will be many a poor people as well as many a rich people who will be in hell, not because of their economic status, but of their willingness to serve the Lord and God and to become truly born again.  Enter though the narrow gate.  For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.  Matthew 7:13-14.

The Lord, in His wisdom, left us TWO main sets of manuscripts. (i) Those written in the common Greek called Koin Greek - and which were passed down through the Churches ... and copied by hand. (ii) Those written in classic Greek and which were kept locked up in the library in Alexandria, Egypt.

Then, in His wisdom, He allowed the Hebrew Old Testament to be translated in Greek about 300 years before Christ by 70 of the best scholars of the that time. the original is called the "Masoretic text" and the Greek copy is called the "Septuagint". After Christ's death it is reported that the Jews tried to change some things in the Masoretic text, but the Dead Sea scrolls showed the Septuagint to be true.

Then, in man's lack of wisdom, some translator took upon themselves the task of not only translating the exact words, but made themselves into expositors and translated scripture not literally, but as they thought God meant. the literal translations are called that while the translations whose translator thought they could improve on God's words, are called "dynamic translations"

So the student of scripture is faced with FOUR possibilities:

    1. A Literal Translation using the "Received Text"
    2. A Literal Translation using the "Alexandrian Text"
    3. A choice between Masoretic Old Testament, or Septuagint
    4. A Dynamic Translation where the translators write what they think God meant

If you have time, study the first three. If you have money enough, get three more books; (i) Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and Dictionary, (ii) Vine's Expository Dictionary, and (iii) The Interlinear Bible. If you are short of money and time, get the "New King James Bible". It is a literal translation with the mistakes of the King James corrected. It uses the Received Text but most have margins showing the differences.

May the Lord bless your efforts.

I have a Strong's and a Young's that I need to dig up that I bought years ago.  Need to bring them back into the light and get back to getting myself back in alignment with God.

THE BEST Bible translation is the one you actually read. :D

Aside from that, they all have their strengths and their weaknesses because they are trying to translate from ancient very nuanced languages into the much more blunt language of English. There are two basic means of translation: formal equivalence and dynamic equivalence. The formal translations attempt to give a direct word-for-word rendering of the original language (Hebrew or Greek). The NAS is generally considered the best of that sort. Dynamic translations attempt to communicate the concepts asserted in the original languages. The NIV would be an example of a dynamic translation. Critics of dynamic translations often complain a specific word is mistranslated. That's because the dynamic translations aren't trying to be bound to the letter of the original language. Those criticisms are often red herrings because the translations does a fine job of communicating the message of the original, even if ti does so in more modern vernacular. The ESV and KJV fall in between but are closer to the formal end. The NLT makes the NIV look formal.

I recommend carrying around whatever you like BUT when studying, use one of each and compare. Reading the NAS and then the NIV can be very informative and illuminating. Same thing will occur using the ESV or KJV and the NLT, HCS, or BSB, etc.

Of course, if you're using a computer to read this post then you've got near-instant access to more translations then you could possibly use. Websites like Bible Hub (my preference), Bible Gateway, or Blue Letter Bible provide easy access to multiple translations as well as the Hebrew and Greek and a plethora of commentary and other study resources.

    Use them.

Thank you.  I like this idea and thank you for the links.

Folks have posted some good information here. There are a few good translations out there. I prefer those that attempt a word for word translation. Its true that many are available on line and free, but that isn't for everyone and we all should have a printed bible.

If I were to purchase a new bible today, it would be either the NASB 95 or the newer version 2020.

My second choice is the ESV and the third would be the NKJV.

The followng link is the Bible I have used for a bunch of years. Its the Inductive Study Bible and there are a lot of helpful bits such as historical charts, maps, Tabernacle descriptions, as well as the suggested manner for study letting the scriptures explain themselves.

It is worth it (for those reading and new to the Lord), to save pennies and buy a good leather (or imitation leather) bound copy, such as in the link, as it will last much longer.

  8. I was always told in the "Christian Bible Group"  (cult as I later discovered and left) that the King James Version was the "only true and accurate version of the Bible."  However, I have seen many other versions out and about in the world (NIV, NKJV, etc. etc.) and have heard from various pastors/preachers what version they use, and unfortunately some use a version that, quite frankly, seems watered down (not sure which version(s) it is).  My question to the masses for my understanding is this:  What versions are really better?  Or are there versions that are more heretical because of they were made to be more "politically correct?"

  9. Religion is man's way of trying to define God.  Or in aspects trying to control others using religion.

With that I know that the one true God, the father of Jesus Christ, who is the only one born of a virgin and raised from the dead by God himself to fulfill the law.  I will tell you I'm allegedly Catholic in name only.  However I am a Christian.  I believe in God and Jesus Christ is my savior.  I will personally look down the barrel of a gun or have my head cut off before I renounce God and Jesus Christ, which will never happen.  I will quote Bible verses I can remember and pray for my enemies as I die.  I am in no way perfect, but I will not, nor ever, renounce God and Jesus Christ.  I will face whatever judgement I may face when I cross the bar, but one thing is certain, I will not be facing judgement for ever renouncing God and Jesus Christ.

  10. I going to toss in a dream I had twice nearly 8 years ago.  Same dream but I had them nearly a year apart.  May mean absolutely nothing but it concerned me a lot, since I was considering retiring or staying in for another few years.

I was deployed with my Air Force Reserve unit to South Korea.  While in my office (I was a Ground Safety Specialist) the attack alarms go off.  I duck under my desk to protect myself, but my right ankle was exposed.  A bright flash (nuke blast is what I believed it to be) enveloped the room.  My right ankle felt like it just received a sunburn.  A loud, horrendous noise immediately followed.  The next thing I know I'm back at my home base in Florida.  Again the attack alarm goes off but this time I am outside when the bright flash of a nuke occurs.  I immediate wake up in a cold sweat and my right ankle felt like it had received a sunburn.  It stayed painful for a couple of days afterwards.

Same dream twice in the span of nearly a year.  Now I don't claim being anything special, but it definitely had me thinking.  And about three years ago I had another dream about trying to cross over the border from North Korea into South Korea.  Not sure what was going on, but geeze.  Maybe I need to cut down on the coffee?

  11. The tuna fish (AKA - Dolphins) will be luck to break even this year. Brett Farve will come back from retirement to take over for a team that is overly desperate for a QB. Dallas will embarrass themselves again. Peyton Manning will be a no show for most, if not the entire season (neck surgeries are nothing to play with). The Steelers and Jets will be in the AFC Championship game. Michael Vick will take the Eagles to the Superbowl.

This and invest in my company, IDONTHAVEACLUE Inc.
