Do you think christianity will suffer persecution, partly because of how the early church delt with jews ? I listened to this today > the history of the church at http://www.wildbranch.org/marketplace/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=67 all this being true, i don't see the church avoiding it. I think verse 5 says it all Luk 13:5-9 CJB No, I tell you. Rather, unless you turn from your sins, you will all die similarly." (6) Then Yeshua gave this illustration: "A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit but didn't find any. (7) So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, 'Here, I've come looking for fruit on this fig tree for three years now without finding any. Cut it down

Ist Maccabees is the fullfilment of daniel 9:26,27 Dan 9:25-27 KJVA Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. (26) And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. (27) And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. 1Ma 1:41-50 KJVA Moreover king Antiochus wrote to his whole kingdom, that all should be one people, (42) And every one should leave his laws: so all the heathen agreed according to the commandment of the king. (43) Yea, many also of the Israelites consented to his religion, and sacrificed unto idols, and profaned the sabbath. (44) For the king had sent letters by messengers unto Jerusalem and the cities of Juda that they should follow the strange laws of the land, (45) And forbid burnt offerings, and sacrifice, and drink offerings, in the temple; and that they should profane the sabbaths and festival days: (46) And pollute the sanctuary and holy people: (47) Set up altars, and groves, and chapels of idols, and sacrifice swine's flesh, and unclean beasts: (48) That they should also leave their children uncircumcised, and make their souls abominable with all manner of uncleanness and profanation: (49) To the end they might forget the law, and change all the ordinances. (50) And whosoever would not do according to the commandment of the king, he said, he should die. 1Ma 1:54-57 KJVA Now the fifteenth day of the month Casleu, in the hundred forty and fifth year, they set up the abomination of desolation upon the altar, and builded idol altars throughout the cities of Juda on every side; (55) And burnt incense at the doors of their houses, and in the streets. (56) And when they had rent in pieces the books of the law which they found, they burnt them with fire. (57) And whosoever was found with any the book of the testament, or if any committed to the law, the king's commandment was, that they should put him to death. 1Ma 1:59 KJVA Now the five and twentieth day of the month they did sacrifice upon the idol altar, which was upon the altar of God. stay blessed

This is what you are looking for, I hope. These laws were not given specifically to Noah, but were a compilation of laws over time. This is, I hope explained by defining "Noachide" as meaning "mankind". The Seven Laws of Noah (Hebrew: שבע מצוות בני נח Sheva mitzvot B'nei Noach) form the major part of the [1] Noahide Laws or Noachide Code. This code is a set of moral imperatives that, according to the Talmud, were given by God[2] as a binding set of laws for the children of Noah - that is, all of mankind. According to Judaism any non-Jew who lives according to these laws is regarded as a Righteous Gentile and is assured of a place in the world to come (Olam Haba), the final reward of the righteous.[5][6] Adherents are often called "B'nei Noach" (Children of Noah) or "Noahides" and may often network in Jewish synagogues. The seven laws listed by the Tosefta and the Talmud are[7][8] 1. Prohibition of Idolatry 2. Prohibition of Murder 3. Prohibition of Theft 4. Prohibition of Sexual immorality 5. Prohibition of Blasphemy 6. Prohibition of eating flesh taken from an animal while it is still alive 7. Establishment of law courts Stay Blessed

Here's a question? Does anyone here believe that satan can put thoughts into our minds? I have heard that taught, but cannot find any scripture that verifies it. Stay Blessed

"Have Christians become som complacent in their daily walk that the no longer believe in satan? The general population I seem to encounter think he cannot do any harm these days. Does he have us right where he wants us waiting as a lion to pounce? " If Christians would use the word "sin" instead of, or as a substitute for the word "satan", It may put all things in a very different light and hopefully they would understand. IE- "Sin walks about like a roaring lion, looking for whom it may devour." Stay Blessed

Did I commit the one unforgiving sin?
savedgeezer replied to Deathstar 80's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Here is what Paul said , and no you didn't commit it. Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? Heb 10:26 Adam Clarke Commentary For if we sin wilfully - If we deliberately, for fear of persecution or from any other motive, renounce the profession of the Gospel and the Author of that Gospel, after having received the knowledge of the truth so as to be convinced that Jesus is the promised Messiah, and that he had sprinkled our hearts from an evil conscience; for such there remaineth no sacrifice for sins; for as the Jewish sacrifices are abolished, as appears by the declaration of God himself in the fortieth Psalm, and Jesus being now the only sacrifice which God will accept, those who reject him have none other; therefore their case must be utterly without remedy. This is the meaning of the apostle, and the case is that of a deliberate apostate - one who has utterly rejected Jesus Christ and his atonement, and renounced the whole Gospel system. It has nothing to do with backsliders in our common use of that term. A man may be overtaken in a fault, or he may deliberately go into sin, and yet neither renounce the Gospel, nor deny the Lord that bought him. His case is dreary and dangerous, but it is not hopeless; no case is hopeless but that of the deliberate apostate, who rejects the whole Gospel system, after having been saved by grace, or convinced of the truth of the Gospel. To him there remaineth no more sacrifice for sin; for there was but the One, Jesus, and this he has utterly rejected. Stay Blessed -
I did not read all the posts, but here is some info that might help with your decisions about the sabbath.
