For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. Psalm 91:11-12
SCENE SYNOPSIS: Simba comes up to Nala when she is with her mom and Sarabi (Simba’s Mom). He wants to tell her about this “really cool place” that he found (referring to the elephant graveyard).
Nala is in the middle of getting a bath, but her mom and Simba’s mom agree they are able to go. The only catch is, that Zazu has to go with them. Zazu is the King’s servant who was charged with watching over the two young lion cubs. As we see in this scene, there has been a guardian sent out ahead of Simba and Nala. They are incapable of taking care of and protecting themselves, because they are so little.
Many times, we as Christians are weak in our faith. We are unable to stand on our own, and we make some really bad choices from time to time. God will send angels to protect us, guide us and help us. We see in The Bible many times over that angels are sent to minister. (Hebrews 1:14) Likewise, when Jesus was tempted in the desert (Luke 4), the angels came and ministered to him afterwards.
Not only does God promise to meet our needs (Philippians 4:13), he promises to protect us. However, we have to do our part. If we remove ourselves out of his protection, it is no longer guaranteed. His perfect will is that we live out his desire for our life and fulfill his wishes. In doing this, we remain in his protective and perfect will.
Discussion Questions:
1) Do you see yourself right now, at this point in your life being in his will? Why or why not?
2) Have you ever encountered his protection (physical or mental or spiritual) that you want to share?
