"Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."

This is the command God Jesus Christ gives us. But almost all of us think like adults, act like adults and take decisions like adults. A child never worries about the next moment, but we worry about what will happen ten years from now. A child holds a list of grievances against anyone, a lot of us do, and convict that person even when they are completely reformed. A child trusts in God absolutely, but we grown ups don't trust with the same intensity. A child will run out and play when it has no money to pay its bills, we never smile amidst our problems. A child doesn't worry about its past mistakes, it forgives itself miraculously. But we are holding on to the guilt of our past mistakes. A child doesn't plan, we do. A child forgives itself, forgives others and forgets all the past misdeeds. We grown ups don't. A child says thank you more easily, we say it with a pinch of cynicism.

How far we are from what the Lord commanded us. Let us all remind ourselves to be children at heart, and let it be our prayer today. Amen

I like how you see it, especially in regards to hanging on to past errors. When you start to do that childhood begins to end.
