I purposely went to search it out so no one could complain about the site that sent it to me. So now it is being reported as unfit, not because it reveals anything offensive when you click on the link, but for the sole reason that it came from youtube. I for one am fully capable of deciding for myself whether I want to follow a link somewhere, I don't feel that I need to be protected. As for some of the others here they will have to decide for themselves. You agreed to the TOS when you signed up here. The owner of this site made the rules as is his right to do so. There are children on this site also and the rule is protect them, not you. I am not trying to offend anyone here, I always bristle when a general rule is made because someone decides what should be seen and it is taken out of the individuals hands. :24: you seem to be missing the point. it's a general policy on WB, not to allow youtube videos. why should you bristle at that? do you not believe in a site owner's right to establish policies that are in keeping with their values? and do you not realize that with a site with this big of a membership, there has to be rules to keep order? and does it matter to you that this site gets a large number of trolls, many of whom have been known to sign up and purposely post very inappropriate videos? Guest LadyC Posted August 29, 2009 Share Posted August 29, 2009 since someone was thoughtful enough to embed the video into a blank page on his own site for you, maybe you could show some appreciation to him (and some respect for the TOS) and replace the link with the one that is allowable, so that the content can still be viewed by people. Please explain. Youtube links aren't allowed on this site. Well, I have seen several youtube videos posted on this forum. Why hasn't this one been deleted then? They aren't supposed to be, the TOS state not to post them, and its probably still here because a Mod hasn't deleted it yet. Okay. Thanks. The flip side though is that sometimes YouTube pages have links with pictures that you don't want children seeing. Although there might not be anything visible now that's a problem . . . there's no saying such a picture won't show up tomorrow. That's the problem with YouTube. The mods have to guard the flock, and as with any group, sometimes the mature have to humble themselves of their rights and freedoms to be sure the young are kept safe. Although there might not be anything visible now that's a problem . . . there's no saying such a picture won't show up tomorrow. That's the problem with YouTube. The mods have to guard the flock, and as with any group, sometimes the mature have to humble themselves of their rights and freedoms to be sure the young are kept safe. Woah! A man had a poster showing an image of Obama like the Joker from the Batman movie to protest the Health Care reform (calling it a socialist program). The cop told him he couldn't have that picture - the words were allowed but not the picture. He wouldn't give a reason. Someone else said that school grounds have different Constitutional rights than everywhere else - but that still didn't explain why the picture was "illegal". I apologize for that. I had considered the children that come here and when I reviewed it I saw no harm. I also bristle at red light cameras. Driving obligates us to those also but....I looked for the video to have been posted somewhere else and they all referenced back to youtube and I felt it was important for it to be seen. The slide this country is in needs to be seen and understood by everyone and I felt this was a good example of what is going on. Granted, the obligation to obey still remains. nuff said!
