Guest shiloh357
Yom is not a 24 hr day, it is not literal. That depends on what context the word is used in. What is amazing is that our salvation is pivotal on whether or not "yom" is translated as a 24hr time frame or many generations- this is not a rejection of doctrine No one said your salvation is pivotal on how yom is translated. Please don't hold your breath on Jesus return. People have been thinking it's going to be in their lifetime since ... well, since the disciples! Plus, I'd like you (and I) to be around in 30 years, so we can see how many more (or less) people believe in evolution.

According to Peter, even back then they misinterpreted the delay. Jesus' delay in returning is an act of mercy toward you. Jesus is allowing people like you time to repent. The gates will close eventually, but the delay in His return should not be misinterpreted as any slackness on His part to fulfill His promise.
