The bloodshed is overshadowing a peace mission by European Union Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana. Solana meets today with Yasser Arafat, the highest-ranking official to visit the Palestinian leader`s ruined headquarters in Ramallah since Israel ended a 10-day siege there last week. Israeli officials tried to discourage Solana from meeting Arafat, saying he`s not a partner for peace.

Thanks wordsower,

On Fox News, I saw on the ticker at the bottom of the screen that Solana had infact gone to the Middle East, but it is amazing to me that the news media hides most of what he does. There is practically no mention at all of what his aim was or even why he was there. But one thing is very clear, when it comes to foreign policy, he is their man. Anybody out there want peace??

Is it a see-saw battle or a rollercoaster ride? More squabbling over who will lead the EU. It is my opinion that they may never be able to agree on who the leader will be. It may just come down to that emergency situation, and if there is ever a crisis, Javier Solana will automaticly be the leader in charge.

Herb says that watching Bible Prophecies come to pass is better than watching a movie. I would have to agree, it is much better indeed.

It's Better Than A Movie

If you're like me, when you where a kid you were told all these neat stories from the Bible. You were told about Jonah and whale (actually it was a great fish), David and Goliath and, of course, Daniel and the lion's den.

The problem is, when we got a little older and started going to school, we found those childhood stories a little harder to believe then when we were

Solana: Europe to become a Super Power

JAVIER SOLANA - This week three years in the difficult post as Secretary General of the Council of the European Union/High representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy. Here with Swedish minister of foreign affairs, Anna Lind. (Photo: Swedish EU Presidency)

EU member states must realise the importance of their role in the World, said the EU's foreign policy chief, Javier Solana in an interview published by the German paper, Die Welt.

This week, on the 18 October, Mr Solana will have been three years in the difficult post as Secretary General of the Council of the European Union/High representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy. Over this period, the Spanish socialist, who is both a former Spanish foreign minister and a former Secretary-General of NATO, has co-ordinated the foreign affairs policies of the EU member states.

An enlarged EU with 25 member states would have double as many citizens as the US and four times as many as Japan. "We have no choice, we must play a role", Mr Solana said in the interview. He referred to the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, who said two years ago that Europe would become "A superpower, but not a superstate."

Mr Solana expressed his doubt about whether a new EU president would be able to succeed in coordinating the views of the different EU member states.

"I have my doubts, whether an artificial created post, of which the outline is not yet clear, would be able to contribute to any solution", Mr Solana said and characterized the debate as being still at an "embryonic stage".

He declared the six-monthly rotating EU presidencies as inefficient, especially when it comes to foreign affairs policy. However he failed to come up with any concrete alterative proposal. "I am not sure what will be the best solution", he said.

:thumb:  Hey Rollin,

I think your definitly on the right track with the E.U. The only problem with Javier Solana I see is, from what I always understood about the AC. I always thought he would be a Bill Clinton type of guy. You know extremely popular, magnetic charm, good looking. Yet the opposite of Clinton with the women.

This guy from what I've seen is not Super charming or good looking.Do you have any more info on him? Is he related to Spanish Monarchy? From what I understand the Spanish Monarchy retains the title of Vicar of Rome.Or basically "Emporer" It was supposedly passed to them when Rome temporarily fell.

Also coming soon three nations are to be subdued. Could possibly happen in the wrangling over the E.U. leadership. I remember not too long ago about Germany, France , and Britain coming together on a meeting to use their combined muscle (being the three most powerful European states) to forge a leadership amongst them.

Going back to the post about Jonah and the whale and childhood reading. I had the same hard time believing them as I got older. Then I read of an account of a Portugeuse fisherman being swallowed by a whale after falling from a fishing vessel back in th 40's ( details may not quite be correct) When the Whale finally spit him out after 3 days. He emerged with no hair any where. He also now had a light blue color to his skin as the whales digestive juices had left his skin very thin. Now imagine old Jonah walking into Nineveh in a tunic no discernable hair and light blue skin preaching the judgment of the Lord. No wonder those people repented. G-d knows what he is doing.

Just as an aside there are some people who live in kentucky, I think, who are actually Blue skinned just like old Jonah was. I met some of them when I worked at a cafeteria in the main hospital at NIH. They used to come thru the line to get lunch. It seems they are from Appalachia and years of inbreeding had left them deficient somewhere in their genes and because of this they have incredibally thin skin. So much so they appear to be light blue in color. No Lie! They were there to have medical testing done.

Yours in CHRIST. Amen.

Hi Rollin.

I punched up Javier Solana on a Google search.

I got a recent biography in a foreign language. Luckily  Google has a translater feature. Doesn't work to good though.

Anyway he has 2 kids and was educated in the good ol USA. I'll find it again and try to post highlights. It Was just basically an outline of his achievments on the diplomatic front. IE... Bosnia, Russian acceptance of EU expansion to Eastern Europe, diplomacy in the Mid East, and the current thing about the revolving Presidency situation in the EU.

I did not see any relation to monarchy. He may just be a useful tool to accomadate a circumstance for the AC.

Yours in Christ

Here we go!! Javier Solana to seek funds from NATO Budget for his European Rapid Reaction Force. I for one, would not be a bit surprised to see the U.S. kick in more than their share.

"The blueprint for a new constitution for Europe, unveiled yesterday, paves the way for sweeping changes to the EU but provoked instant British opposition by suggesting the bloc could be renamed 'United States of Europe'.

Daniel 7: 7c-8 - "It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns. (8)While I was thinking about the horns, there before me was another horn, a little one, which came up among them; and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like eyes of a man and a mouth that spoke boastfully."

I have been waiting to see who these three horns are, that will fall into the hands of the little horn. They will have to submit to the little horns authority. Herb has been following this little horn very closely and I think he has found the beginnings of what may develop into the revelation of who these three horns will be. Below is his commentary: - - - - -

http://fulfilledprophecy.com/3_benelux_horns.htm

The Three (Benelux) Horns

Last June I wrote a commentary titled, "The 3 Horns Destined to be Plucked?" In fact, I still have it posted on my Website.

If you recall, in this commentary I said there were three nations in the EU's new 10-nation military alliance that I thought could be the three horns destined to be plucked by the Antichrist in his rise to power. These three nations were Belgium, Luxembourg and Netherlands.

Then earlier this month of November, I wrote another commentary where I said I thought Germany may have replaced the Netherlands in this three nation alliance that is destined to be plucked by the Antichrist.

Now, I'm back again to thinking it will be the first three - Belgium, Luxembourg and Netherlands.

Lets review why I thought so in the first place. There are two primary factions fighting for control of the EU. Those in favor of more power to the Commission, and those in favor of more power to the Council where the EU heads have control.

The EU's new 10-nation military alliance has its seat of power in the Council. These nations are: Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Greece. Naturally, you'd think the leaders of this alliance would be on the side of those wishing to strengthen the Council.

But, this isn't the case. As I reported last June, three of the 10 nations - Belgium, Luxembourg and Netherlands - came out against strengthening the Council and have sided with Romano Prodi and the Commission. So, I naturally began wondering if these three nations could actually be the three horns that the Antichrist is destined to pluck in his rise to power.

The Convention on the Future of Europe is the forum set up to settle this power struggle over control of the new, super EU due on the scene in 2004. And, Europe's many political parties and governments have been presenting the Convention with their ideas for an EU constitution and framework for the new, super EU government.

Now for the reason I'm back to my first view about who those three nations might be. The EUobserver is reporting that Belgium, Luxembourg and Netherlands have just presented their own plan to the Convention. And, once again, they're  not siding with those nations in the 10-nation alliance who wish to strengthen the Council.

It turns out these three nations have an alliance with each other that pre-dates their relationship with the EU's new 10-nation military alliance. Evidently, these nations signed the Benelux Treaty with each other back in 1947. And, the Benelux Treaty didn't have anything to do with defense.

It was after this, in 1948, that these Benelux nations signed the Brussels Treaty, which is considered the beginning of the EU's 10-nation military alliance. This is because, unlike the Beneluz Treaty, the Brussels Treaty was a mutual defense treaty. France and the UK also joined with the three Benelux nations and signed the Brussels Treaty.

Now, these Benelux nations have broken ranks and have presented their own plan to the Convention - a plan that calls for strengthening the Commission and not the Council.

Needless to say, once again I'm thinking these three nations could well be the three horns the Antichrist is destined to be plucked on his rise to power.

Why? Because Bible prophecy tells us an alliance of 10 kings are destined to rule over this modern day revival of the old Roman Empire we are seeing. And, as I speak, there happens to be a 10-nation military alliance within the EU Council.

Now we learn that within this 10-nation military alliance there exists another, three nation alliance with little military value. And, this three nation alliance has broken ranks with the others and has sided with the Commission.

So, if the Antichrist is on his way to power in the EU's new 10-nation alliance, guess which three horns will be plucked.
