A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 has shaken eastern Turkey, killing at least 17 people in several villages.

Umm.....alot of earthquakes lately...... :noidea:

Well, according to the article:

"Earthquakes happen frequently in Turkey, much of which is located on several fault lines."

But actually, it isn't that there are more earthquakes (when looking at the global map of alerts and disasters, there are many earthquakes all the time), but that there have been several high magnitude earthquakes.

I'd like to know though, how Turkey was spared the high death counts of the other two earthquakes. Less populated areas, perhaps?
