(i've re-writen it over the last couple of days, many times) I hate the man i have to become to be able to do my job... do i really have to submit to the ways of the world just to be able to live? To walk apart from the pattern of the world will require sacrifice. We see this in the life of Christ there was someone always pointing a finger at His life style and how it did not fit with the religion of the day! To love God with all our heart should incourage us to sacrifice. One day at a time commit to this service and more of your heart will commit to Christ and not the world. 2 Peter 1:2-4 2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. NKJV The job: the rules, the people all seem in perfect cordination to remove your mind from God and His Word! However prayer and meditation before work and all that is possible during work will lesson the victory of the jobsite and bring more peace to your troubled soul. I use MP3 sermons, hymns of praise, Bible reading etc. to keep my mind on Him. I could be happy in the lowest of jobs for Christ lifts me up and incourages me as long as my mind is stayed on Him! Isa 26:3-4 3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. 4 Trust in the Lord forever, for in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength. What does 'retrenched' mean, Benobi? sorry, i think in the USA you talk of "laid off" ... it is when you get let go because the company can't afford you any more... i work in retail... Sometimes God gives us stepping stones. Could He have provided this job for you in order to pay bills and eat until the right job was available?
