I'm thinking God is " pleased " rather than proud.

Yes - I think that may be the better word to use "Pleased". I think He expects His children to be obedient and righteous and is pleased when they are.

God is happy when we are pleased and thank Him for it.

Blessings.

Who Came Down From Heaven Above

And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:13-15

To Swap His Righteousness

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;

and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

For Our Rags

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;

and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Isaiah 64:6

Is He Proud Of His Kids

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25

Oh My! Praise His Holy Name!

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith,

God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. James 4:6

My LORD And My God

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:5-6
