Tools are an inanimate object. If I had powerpoint I would use it, If it would help me to bring the salvation message of Jesus Christ to another. An axe was made to chop down a tree, but some one may use it to destroy another persons life. But that isn't the axe's fault. My point is that some good tools are being used for the wrong reasons. Which is exactly why I stated this.
Guest sinner2saint
For example, I used to go to a church that people had to be begged to serve at all. That is what happens when a church is full of "infants." The Pastor has to beg people to serve. Willingness to serve is a sign of spiritual maturity. This was all too real to me this spring and summer, when due to travel, moving, and a job, all done with his guidance. But where people are gathered there is a fellowship that feeds the soul and spirit. Hopefully, people will soon realized that churches aren't the buildings that they are held in but the people that serve and love to serve God. But I have always found this addage to be true, "Everyone wants to reap, but very few want to plow." It seems that everyone wants to receive from God but very few want to give to, and work for GOD. ***************************************************************** Pastor, You are right, some churches...(most churches!) go over board....and I know about those that want to reap, and few want to plow. I am very involved in tons of things going on....I have to say no somethimes. I just wish that we would just all get to gether and pray our hearts out. Instead of all the whatevers we do. Quess no one is stopping me from going to church and pray....dah!

I agree, this would be so powerful, yet very few people even want to work in prayer. There is so much power in prayer and fasting. I wish more people would fast and pray for their church and for our country to go back to the days of old, "One nation under God"

Besides, Church isn't going to a building, it is spending time with God...you could really be "going to Church" so to speak by just reading the Bible and meditating on it. But sometimes we do not have time to do this once in a rare while, but we should try to whenever we can.

Nor should we compromise the message that we preach. Jesus ate with "tax collectors and sinners." We must follow in the footsteps of our Lord in befriending sinners and trying to reach them with the gospel. However, at the same time, we must not accomodate ourselves to the wicked lifestyles of those we are trying to reach. This does not mean that we refrain from having any contact with unbelievers. Those who are sick with the disease of sin need a physician, and we must make every effort to give them the cure of the gospel. AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
