That our reward would be received on Earth; but those who do in secret will be rewarded in Heaven

What if they are making a show in order to get others to join in? Or to keep accountable? There are many, many charitable donations where the donor is not know. These people held news conferences to announce their "generosity." i.e. "An anonimous donor just gave 10 billion dollars toward finding a cure for the AIDS/HIV disease. They were joined by another who gave 100 billion dollars."

Even non-believers want to do things to help humanity. The thing is, without God in the equation, the solution is flawed. The world seeks the favorable opinions of men, while the children of God seek to serve Him. It's like in this verse, where the men were more concerned what man would do than God. Jhn 12:43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. It also reminds me of the book of Judges, where the phrase "They did what was right in their own eyes," is repeated again and again. The people had good intentions, but again, left God out of the solutions. It is to our good that God can take what the world does, and use it to His glory. But, Gods words apply to both saved and unsaved. I was just making the point that they have received their reward. I made no statement about their intent nor their motivation. I'm sure it is altruistic. And by the way, there have been many, many lost individuals who have given giant amounts to charities anonymously. As you well know.
