Now just a simple observation for all. While it is excellent to search scripture for truth, and we are told to do so. In this case what does it matter? We are not arguing that Jesus was crucified, died, rose and will return. Simple yes, but we all believe that or we would not be here. Perhaps we should be concentrating more on what He told us to do before His return? And again, so what about the exact time He returns? Our time is far better spent Loving and Obeying as He told us to. For therein lies the fruit.....
Guest shiloh357
Please explain what is historically inaccurate. Because we are not necssarily dealing with traditions that have passed through two temple destructions and so on. We are dealing with commandments directly out of Scripture on which certain traditions are based. I would also add that Jesus coformed to those customs and traditions and did not condemn them as being incorrect or out of line with the Scriptures. The Jewish people have been observing days like the 1st Day of Unleavened Bread as a sabbaths from time immemorial and someone like you comes around and tries to argue that they are rooted in tradition. It is really kind of laughable. You are straying from the point. The point is whether the Feasts were Sabbaths or not, and on that point, what Jesus did has no bearing. What Jesus did has a great deal of bearing. Jesus was not slow to criticize what was unscriptural and out of line with the clear teaching and intent of the Scriptures. Had they been incorrect in treating these days as Sabbaths He would have pointed it out. What this tells us is that Jesus not only did not condemn this practice, but He conformed to it Himself. Whether they were Sabbaths or not has bearing only on which day before the Sabbath did Jesus die. Jesus died on the day before the 1st day of Unleavened bread. It can be proven scripturally and historically that Jesus died on Aviv 14th at 3:00 pm. And that is in accordance to all of the biblical typology provided in the OT. It is one reason the Jews should have recognized Him. I am sorry that you choose not to believe the Scriptures simply because you have some agenda to prove the Bible wrong.
