Are we chosen as in selected from among the multitudes by the Lord?

OR do we in our freewill choose the Lord?

I dont think we choose God; he chooses us.  I know in my own case, he chased me around a bit, and I "fell" for it hook, line and sinker.  :cool2:

However as for just who is the Elect at the endtime, I believe it to be Israel.

Isiah 45:4  Israel, mine Elect.

There is more than one meaning to the word elect.

Angel, I believe a good Concordance is very helpful in our studies. I know it was/is for me.  Oh, and a Bible Dictionary too.

Thank you, Orange Neck

That's the very scripture that prompted my question.  I fhten we are already selected out to come to Him, what is the point of witnessing and missionary work.....

God has chosen all of us for His kingdom and has provided a way for this to be--He desires for all to have eternal life with him. He has foreknowledge of who will answer His call however.

I agree totally suzie, I am always disheartened though when there are those who are confused by His foreknowledge.  It is not about God picking and choosing certain ones for salvation, it is about certain ones rejecting that offer of salvation, and God's foreknowledge of that rejection, and what He will will then use that vessel for.

Noble or ignoble purposes?  2 Tim. 2:17-26

In His Love,

Suzanne

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

come:  to leave space (which may be filled or occupied by another),  to make room, give place, yield

repentance:  change of mind, the state of changing elements composing one's life - attitude, thoughts and behaviors concerning the demands of God for right living.

In His Love,

Suzanne
