There's a really good optical illusion in this picture. I set it as a wallpaper for my desktop and while I was looking at it, the craters changed appearance. Instead of looking like a craters, they became raised bumps. It happens so fast.....

Ugh! I have this problem with so many images of moons and planets -

I see craters as raised bumps, and I can't get them to look like craters! :blink::th_frusty:

I was very surprised I am actually seeing these as craters!

I see craters as raised bumps, and I can't get them to look like craters! :blink::th_frusty:

I have the same problem. It just wrecks the photo.

But I've found that there's always something in the picture that will allow your eyes to see it right. You just have to search for it.

:cool:Have a look at the one smallish impact crater on the middle left. The debris field must be 100's of miles in every direction. The moon has taken quite a few hits for us!
