But with any teacher, you can find agreeable and disagreeable things. No teacher should be read or listened to hook-line-and-sinker. You need to be able to evaluate all things they say compared to Scripture - even your pastor. There are a lot of things McArthur teaches well. But not all things - as was pointed out. As with anyone, you have to weigh things out accordingly. Some like to gleen being aware that they might encounter worms along the way. Some prefer to gleen where they won't find such worms. It's up to you how you wish to proceed. They are pretty HUGE errors though, they don't affect small areas of doctrine but rather your entire approach to the bible, IMHO. That's serious enough for me to ignore his teaching. I don't mind cherry picking a little (I do it with David Pawson, who I really like, but who has a few small things I disagree with) but when the you can't see the cherry for thorns... True - it's been a couple decades since I heard his teaching, and I didn't know about replacement theology back then to notice any red flags. So But also keep in mind that I stopped listening to John McArthur when I heard him preaching Cessationism.

Long, perhaps, but he stated his belief and explained the doctrine. He does not teach Replacement Theology. As for the gifts of the Holy Spirit, I heard him speak on that recently also and will search it out.
