Greetings to all,

My question pertains to the Kingdom of God, what exactly is it and what does it encompass? Paul states that the Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. This would seem to differentiate it from the tangible sovereign powers and dominions found on earth throughout history. Perhaps the Kingdom itself refers to Jesus' ministry and His accomplished finished work on the cross for all of us or possibly that the righteousness, peace, and joy mentioned here refer specifically to His own attributes found within us as believers (Matt 6:33, Luke 17:21). Though these characteristics may seem abstract, lacking substance on the surface, they do have physical properties when they manifest, such as a person who receives the gift of healing.

Any comments or insight would be much appreciated...

The Kingdom of God is a real Kingdom. It is not in this world, but is in heaven. Those who are born again Christians are citizens of that Kingdom, as well as citizens of the nation they reside in on earth, duel citizenship. Paul spoke of himself as an Ambassador, or representative of God. We are here to represent God and his Kingdom. The Bible is the closest thing we have to the Constitution of the Kingdom of God, and if we are to represent God's Kingdom, it means following scriptural teachings. If our personal beliefs contradict scripture, we have to toss our feelings aside. In the Kingdom of God, The Heavenly Father reigns supreme, with Christ Jesus at his right hand. The Holy Spirit is in the world, helping those who are members of God's Kingdom, teaching us and giving us comfort.

Upon His death..

Mat 27:51 And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.

Access to the Kingdom is now direct, no longer do we have to rely on men to venture into the Holy of Holy's for us. The curtain is torn, and we have direct access to the Kingdom.

The kingdom of God is inside you. It is life, joy and peace in the Holy Spirit. It is coming to a world near you to be manifest in the temporal realm. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. The time is here, the kingdom is at hand. The king is near ready to come and rule. How Exciting!

In Jesus Name,

Gary
