Romans 1-2 and 11-14 is very helpful. If we as Christians realise that we are both Gentiles and Jews, we will recognise that Christ Jesus is the same Messiah to the Jews as to the Gentiles. In fact it says to make the Jews jealous, Christ Jesus is their Messiah that we have faith in.

Now the issue of the land and state is more complicated, polarised around extremes. But one cant rule out the land as having been promised to the Jews. The current state of Israel is mostly secular, but the Biblical testimony shows that God didnt abandon the people He made a covenant with even when they turned from Him in idolotry.

NB. regarding rich08, nebula and xero's noted point about Galatians 3:26, the lgbt lobbies use any and every argument to defend homosexuality regardless of whether it has any logic or not. the scripture only deals with God's created order of man and woman to be in faithful union, men having sex with men is error so the concept of 'homosexuality' is also error, as is heterosexuality. .

Jesus is the Messiah of Jews. The Bible nowhere calls Him "Messiah" in connection to the Gentiles. That is because "Messiah" is not a redemptive title. It is a political title that refers to Jesus earthly reign on earth. Secondly, Christians are not "Jews" by virtue of being Christians. "Jew" is an ethnic term, not a spiritual term. Salvation doesn't make one a Jew and the Bible NEVER spiritualizes it that way. Romans 2:28-29 is addressed to Jews about what it means to be a Jew. It is not saying that Gentile believers are Jews.

Now the issue of the land and state is more complicated, polarised around extremes.

Well, not exactly. it is complicated due to Islam's intolerance of Israel's prosperity in their midst, given that Israel is far more prosperous than its surrounding Islamic enemies. It is further complicated by an anti-Semitic internation community and liberal press that applies unfair doublestandards to Israel and rejects Israel's legitmacy. Supporting Israel against the fickle and racist international community is not an "extremist" position.

Actually, most of Israel is religious. In Israel, "secular": doesn't mean what it means here in the west. In Israel, "secular" simply means that they are not "Orthodox." Religious Jews that are not orthodox are called "secular." When they refer to nonreligious Jews, they simply say "nonreligious."

but the Biblical testimony shows that God didnt abandon the people He made a covenant with even when they turned from Him in idolotry.

You are correct.
