Its much easier to blame things on Israel and America than to focus in on your (EU's) shortcomings. France and the rest of the EU can gripe and complain all they want but its silly for them to think that they could ever keep America in check. What a joke! They have no idea why America has risen to become the world's greatest power. They are full of envy so they just sit back and say "Its because America takes advantage of other weaker nations". Most of the EU leans socialist. Socialism does not plant the seeds of excellence. Just weakness and dependence on government. Except for the non-brainwashed in the UK, Europeans don't seem to have a clue when an enemy is at their door. The last thing Americans need to do is to listen to Europeans about how to do things. Americans don't owe any apologies. I don't and won't apologize for being American. My grandparents were from Europe and they didn't go back. Ever! I wonder why?I spent much of my time in Europe back in the 80s and I did like it there. I liked the people and the culture. I never had the urge to put any of them down. I realized that they just had a different way of doing things. But I don't see where they were better. Oh Well...live and let live right?. But for the last few years all I hear from them is criticism and I must say they are in no position to judge us. I'm a bit tired of their ramblings. I believe that I speak for most Americans when I say " I just don't get up every morning and worry about what Europeans think about us".

About the world despising americans, you're right.

Millions risk life and limb to make it to America every year. I really don't see a mass exodus out of America. The world is full of humans and humans are full of envy.

God Bless America! (Actually he has)

Text, without context is a pretext.

I will believe that you tried to be wise to use inoe part of my sentence, but if you read it all, it takes another sense. That's what Bush, and now I believe some part of americans (not all of them) do. Get parts pf a text and uses in another context very different to the original proposed.

My point was this one below:

About the world despising americans, you're right. Americans are not flocking to foreign consulates, but i dont know if you realize but everywhere in the world that Bush visits, protests rise against U.S. foreign policy. Everywhere. In your country, when the republican convetion happened, i saw thusands of people protesting against mr. Bush. Is part of your country right and the rest wrong?

i think the world is simply ignorant of history. They say they hate America, yet if it wasn't for America, they would have nothing. For one, we were the first nation to rise against colonialism and make ourselves our own nation. This inspired others to off their monarchs and rule themselves. Likewise, while we have caused some problems, we've also saved the world three times over. First with WWI, secondly with WWII, and third by keeping Communist Russia in check. So while we've done some wrong things, the world does owe America. We prevented the spread of colonialism and expansionism, we stopped, defeated, and liberated all of Europe from Facism, and we brought down the cold wall of Communism. So like it or not Filipe, historically the world owes America.

Likewise, to suggest that there is discontent here and that people are leaving America is just stupid. While in other countries when there is a split in the population war breaks out or people flee the country, here in America we simply live with it. There are no masses leaving America because America still has A LOT to offer.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

First of all, Super Jew, I never said that people are fleeing off your country. What I said that there is discontent indeed in your country.

Secondly, about world war II. The reason that U.S. went to war was because of the attack to Pearl Harbor. The japanese didnt have the right to attack the U>S. They did wrong. But U.S. also didn't have the right to do, the worst terrorist attack ever, a nuclear bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. U.S. discovered the nuclear bomb, didn't have anywhere to "practice", and then, throw it in Japan to see "if the project works".

Also, U.S. was in in economic crisis after 1929 and sold weapons to the Europeans fight against Hitler. So, U.S. took advantage of the war to economically grow. That's one of the reasons why U.S. growth at that time was so quick.

I would like to remind you that when September 11 happened, the United States of America got the biggest support ever in history. But Bush jr. spoiled it when he turned his hunt of Osama bin laden in hunt of Saddam. We all know that saddam is a bad guy, no questions about it. But how about North Korea, Sudan and other dictatorial regimes? There was no proofs os WMD in Iraq before the war. The CIA just suspected. While Everyboody knew that NKorea has a nuclear arsenal. Concrete proof. If to invade, Why not North Korea first and then Iraq?

I dont know if you have access, but try to read a book called Mein Kampf and make a parallel to Mr. Bush Jr. foreign policy.

I do know that, Filipe. He is hated by ALL the forces of the antichrist, including communists, abortionists, radical Muslims and deceived Christians. Which are you?

Did it ever occur to you that we don't give an iota what the devil likes or dislikes? That we will continue to do what we believe is right, no matter what all the devil's servants scream and accuse?

Leonard, I really didn't understand who is He, that you said, but i will assume that is Bush Jr.

Well, 2Co. 11.14 tells me that i am not supposed to believe in everything what i see. Why would I have to believe that George Bus is some kind of a God's envy?

Does God bless america? Of course. Why would not God bless the U.S. if they use the Bible in their foundation, their independece, their constitution? What I do not agree is using the christioan faith, christian beliefs to personal interests.

When I say personal, I mean government. Use fake evidence to invade a country because of their natural resources, like in Iraq.

Pv. 20:10 tells me about justice. Why invade Iraq and not invade North Korea? Why threaten Syria, as Rumsfeld did after the fall of baghdad and negotiate with Sudan?

Do they teach history and political philosophy in other countries? Surely they do. First off, you are correct in asserting that the US entered the war for the attack on Pearl Harbor. Yet, interestingly enough, we launched our first major attacks and devoted most of our time to the European theatre. What say you to that?

As for our nuclear attacks, we actually tested the bomb in the New Mexico desert first. Also, let me ask you which is more justifiable:

Scenario #1 : We bomb Japan with nuclear weapons and wipe out about 50,000....300,000 as the years go on (from cancer and other fallout sicknesses).

Scenario #2 : Send a land invasion into Japan which would cost at least 500,000 American lives and 10 million Japanese lives. However, a more practical assesment would be about 1 million American lives and about 80-85% of the japanese population wipe out.

You see, the Japanese mentality (at that time) was that compared to their country their lives meant nothing. They were willing to give everything. Thus, the more humane choice to end the war was to drop the Nuclear bomb. A land invasion would have been inhumane and Japane would have never recovered. Even most Japenese beleive it was justifiable.

As for America getting involved for economic purposes...this is possibly true for 1939-1941...however if our intent was soley economical then there is no way we would have committed troops.

As for North Korea, you're right, we do know he has a nuclear arsenal...which is WHY we don't invade him. You don't invade someone's country (unless they've used their arsenal) if they meet the following criteria:

1) They have nukes

2) They're crazy

3) THey have a disdain for life, including their own

Kim Jong Il fits all three of these, thus invasion would promise a nuclear strike.

And for Mein Kampf, been there and read it. It was required reading for one of my classes in high school. I can say with authority that nothing about Bush lines up with Mein Kampf. Go ahead and try and draw the similarities. Someone else on these boards already failed at that :whistling:

You can't please everyone! You can only do what you think is right. Most of that mob of goof balls in NYC during the Republican Convention gripe and moan regardless of who is in office. If that bunch hates you, its a pretty good sign that your doing something right. And oh! by the way.....they lost! They will continue to lose because they come across as cartoon characters. Thats what losers do. If we were a police state like some charge, they all would have been arrested. But were they? Most Americans see them and have a good laugh! LOL! As far as the world despising America, too bad! If they hate Bush, they should hate the 60000000 folks who voted him in as well. That would include me. Im fine with it. Have a nice day!

Felipe: Have you ever read Mein Kampf? I have a copy both in German and in English translation (My German was never good, and has been unused for 16 years or so!). Have you forgotten that Hitler was a Socialist, NOT A CONSERVATIVE? The book could more likely have been written by Marx (or Chirac) than by Bush.

Again, your posts are a perfect of example of why Americans do not care the least what Europe thinks about us. We will continue to do the right thing, and be ready to pay the consequences in this universe of the absurd we call 'earth'!

I'm not sure if this still applies because there was no way I could read all five pages of this thread today, but here goes...

The people from the States that have actually visited France have stated that the first thing they were told by their freinds in France was that the media does not reflect the true people of France as a whole. I'm not sure about Germany but I would suspect the same.

Could it be that the same "extreme left" that has control of American media, or at least did have a monopoly on it until recently, also is working on a global scale. I think so. These extremists will devide people in agreement with lies.

There are extremists in all countries, in the US, France, and Germany. I could tell you some stories that would make you shake your head in discust from all of them.

You see how the media devides us here in the US. We needed AM radio and the internet to overcome their lies. I would not be too quick to judge the people of another country because chances are that they are not as Hell bent on hating tha US as we may think.

Rulers and principalities, and what a job they are doing in deviding good people from all walks of life and every part of the world.

Just my two cents worth. Just consider the possibility.
