A couple of dozen demonstrators attending a rally on the Mall once billed as the Million Muslim March were vastly outnumbered Wednesday by onlookers who heckled them and a counterprotest consisting of motorcycle riders honoring Sept. 11 victims.

The article said that the bikers "fell short of 2 million." The problem is, the article missed the point of that "2 million" title - which was to shoe-up the 1 mill. Muslim march.

The bikers ended up coming through with a show of force of an estimated 880,00 people!

Better then the few hundred Muslims. I say good for them. My only issue is, every time there is something like this-whether its Islam or crazies like westboro-that its the bikers who are standing up to them. Are the bikers the only group in america anymore with the backbone and organization to stand for what's right? Where is the church.

Most are not-but even so they didn't show

Up representing the church. Imagine what would happen in america if just half the churches stood together to protest anything? We would be nearly unstoppable.

One of my FB friends was wondering why there was very little to no national coverage on this.

Another friend posted this:

Most reports on the bikers were on the radio. I also learned that even DC traffic cams were put into a loop. You couldn't see any bikes. They gave it away, by some showing "snow"!

The first I heard of it was here at Worthy.

I think it is great that the bikers are taking a stand.  This is what civil disobedience is.  But, I can't help wonder what type of reaction everyone would have if it were a group whose ideas we did not agree with who were violating the permit law?
