End times prophecy is confusing

How would Satan know he only has 7 years?

Unless he has never read the Bible or read this forum or ever heard any other Christian on the planet mention the Tribulation, then I guess that he knows that he has only seven years!

Luke 24

25Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

26Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

27And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Did you know that the OT is filled with scripture that foretells the coming of Jesus? Everything from His birth to His death. And Satan had access to all of it.

Satan wasn't tricked. He knew exactly what was happening......and why.

GOD is not the GOD of confusion. The Scriptures are quite clear, if one keeps it in context, takes it literally, doesn't cherry pick scripture to fit their own ideas, and listens for the Holy Spirit's leading.

That's right, MAN is the God of confusion, like the time when you said 1 Thess 5:9 & Rev 3:10 are rapture scriptures when they're not. These scriptures are not talking about rapture. 1 Thess 5:9 is talking about the wrath that is given to nonbelievers for their everyday unrepentance and not great tribulation wrath, and Rev 3:10 is talking about the moving and location of the church. Christ is protecting the church and the believers from affliction and distress, moving to another location does not mean rapture here...post 12

From Parker1: 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 also points to the removal of the church by rapture at the time of GOD’s future wrath.

third significant passage, where John records the words of Christ to the church at Philadelphia, is found in Revelation 3:10. Christ promises “Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.” Protection is promised to keep them from (ek) the hour of trial. Some of you will debate the meaning of the Greek word “ek” as used here. You may feel that the use of the word indicates that the church will be protected through the time of tribulation. However, it should be observed that the text does not say that we will be kept from trials but from the “hour of trial.” This “hour of trial” refers to the tribulation period and is a promise to keep the church from the period of trial (or testing), which requires the actual removal from the time period itself and not preservation through it. This is accomplished by the Rapture at the beginning of the tribulation."

...or the time someone on here said Rev 4:1 is rapture scripture, but it's not. It's a vision given to John about the great tribulation.

Just couldn't resist making this thread into something its not, could you?

So knowing that Jesus was meant to die, Satan helped him to do it? That makes a lot of sense.

The Jews didn't know that their Messiah was going to die. One of the reasons that they still reject Jesus is because he died on the cross. The Old Testament gave some pretty cryptic clues (the one that they have pierced etc.) but kept Jesus' death hidden. God may not be the author of confusion, but he will play his cards close to his chest sometimes, especially where wily Satan is concerned.

Satan knew that Jesus was Messiah. He was smart enough to know that because he had pieced together all the many clues in the scripture, even if the Jews didn't know. That's why Satan wanted Jesus dead. The only thing that wasn't revealed in scripture was that the Messiah was meant to be killed.

At first Satan tried tempting Jesus to turn him away from his duty as Messiah and when that didn't work, knowing that Jesus had an Earthly, mortal body, Satan decided that assassination was the only option.

He wanted the Jewish Messiah dead and he did everything he could to make that happen. Why would he have Judas betray Jesus and get him arrested? He thought that if the Messiah was killed then he would have foiled God's plan, but it was God's plan all the time to sacrifice his own son.

Satan has since then  tried to fool people into not accepting Jesus, even going so far as to create the false religion of Islam to deny Jesus' sacrifice and subsequent resurrection, and to intimidate Christians (and anybody else whilst he's at it) into converting to Islam.

He has also tried everything he can to destroy the Jews, culminating in the Nazi holocaust (the Final Solution). If he wipes out the bloodline of the Jews then they can't return to Jerusalem and set up the Holy temple in preparation for Jesus' return. God knows who the descendants of David are, even if the Jews themselves don't.

Of course, Satan failed here too because Israel has been reformed, so now he is trying to destroy Israel and persecute any last remaining Jews who are not in Israel. Hence the growing rise in antisemitism in Europe and the rest of the World.

He will have his last chance at capturing as many souls as he can when he rules from Jerusalem during the Tribulation, but he knows the time is short because he will only have seven years in which to do this. When he goes to his fate he wants to bring down as many as possible and take them with him.

man I am thinking than Satan knows more than you think he knows.

Isaiah 53

1. Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

2. For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

6. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

8. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

10. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

11. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

12. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Meant to be killed is 'NOT' the same as 'going' to be killed. Of course he was going to die. That's pretty obvious being in a mortal body.

Satan couldn't wait to kill him. When Jesus died on the cross, Satan probably thought that he had died without fulfilling his mission. Dying WAS his mission.

It's also easy to look at Isaiah with hindsight and now know what it means. The Jews knew their scripture better than anyone. They didn't know what it meant.

I don't think that Satan knew that Christ would rise from the dead, thereby defeating death and sin. Now, I believe Satan's goal is to bring about the destruction of Israel and Judah before they can call for GOD to return to save them. Satan still thinks that he can twart the Will of GOD.

No, you said I caused confusion. You personally attacked me. Did you not read the new Rules about posting? We are not supposed to attack others, no matter how subtle. The mods should take this up with you.
