I personally think you give Obama too much credit. In regards to those who voted for him, I find it hard to hold it against them. When your forced to choose between a punch to the head or the gut, there is not a right choice. I think at least part of the blame of him being in the White House has to go to the GOP for putting such terrible candidates to oppose him.

It is not credit I give Obama, it is the realization that he is not "stupid".  While I agree that what is he doing is stupid, that does not make him stupid.

Oh, I hold people responsible for the choices they make.  Many voted against the current administration more than they voted for Obama, desiring change.  The change they wanted, for the most part, may not be the change they were getting.  Obama, showing how smart he really is, refused to inform the voting populace exactly what the change he had in mind was, requiring the voters to accept change in general ... placing the voters in fault for not demanding to know what they were voting for ... much like Obama-care ... vote for it and find out what it is after it becomes law.  Now, that is a stupid choice to of made.

LoL did you vote for him?
No, I did not. In my few national elections I have never cast my vote for president to anyone from either major party.

You make a good point, Onelight.    People thought that Obama was going to be like Clinton, that they were going to get better jobs and make more money and be able to buy a house, etc.   They did not envision the "change"  that we are getting.

Obama ran off a nebulous "hope and change" mantra and no one asked him what that meant.   When "Joe the Plumber"   called Obama out about his "wealth redistribution" as "socialism"   The Obama campaign, went on a crusade of personal destruction against Joe the Plumber.   That should have been their first clue that something was not right.   This president is very thin skinned and personally vindictive.

No one envisioned 15% unemployment, losing six figure incomes and having to work for min wage at Walmart.  They didn't envision loslng their healthcare and being forced to buy ultra expensive healthcare that they can't afford on their new "Walmart"  income.   They didn't envision all of the lies and scandals and the indefensible  silliness that comes out of the mouths of the adolescents that work in the State Dept.

The voters DO share a significant portion of the blame.  They voted him in by a landslide and they did it while being uniformed and living in a naïve fantasy world.   Many of his supporters were in the  18-25 year old range and now that they have graduated from college and have al little life experience on them, many have said they are sorry they voted for him.

They voted for him for ideological reasons, not because they had a personal stake in what they were voting about.  Now that they do have a stake in all of this, they realize how misguided they were.

The problem is that next year there is little chance we will have anyone better to vote for. Obama will be gone but looking at the list of contenders makes me want to move to Canada.

It is interesting how lopsided this election is shaping up to be.   The Democrats basically have Hillary.    And then the GOP has a list of 10-15 contenders.  Never seen that before.  No one on the Left wants to challenge Hillary.   Very strange...

Fear is forcing you to put the cart before the horse ... wait and see what they stand for before packing your bags.  Then again, if the laws and government in Canada fits to your belief system, you can always ask for citizenship.

Hi Shiloh,

The election is lopsided and that's good.  The Democrat party has hive mind like support for their policies, which should chill us all to the bone.  At least the Republican Party is divided which means there are a lot of different ideas floating around there.

Hillary is damaged goods and there is no way she gets the nomination. There will be a Clinton (as in Bill) like candidate that comes out of no where.

Which GOP candidate do we not know where they stand? Sure they might talk a different game during the election, but it is just that, empty talk.

As there are no Christian theocratic countries, no system fits my belief system 100%.
