Does lifting affect hormone levels in women to the extent that there is a decrease in estrogen or an increase in testosterone? Also, how much protein do you consume on an average day? The reason I'm asking is, I lost about 30 pounds on Atkins in roughly 3 1/2 weeks, and I discovered that I was taking in almost as much protein as an amateur bodybuilder. So I wanted to know how you guys balance out the amount of protein that you take in to build muscle, and how much carbs you limit yourself to so that your body can run, without gaining weight. I dunno much about the chemistry, so please go easy... Thanks.

A swimmer is also around others in skimpy outfits. Dancing, ice skating and I'm sure other activities might influence -some- people to think untoward thoughts. The problem is dwelling on them and letting your imagination run wild. These things will then lead to some action which would be sin. So for those whose "threshhold" is low and might be "tempted" to think impure thoughts, then they should stay away from such activities. I didn't get the impression from your post that that might include you, but only you know that for sure. Blessings, Dad Ernie I was going to respond to this, but it seems Dad Ernie has said just about exactly what I was going to say. So.......what he said. I see nothing wrong with appreciating a good looking person. As long as it's in perspective. (that's the least important thing about them, IMO. )

Much of what we see in the media today is "soft porn" because it sells so well. The problem is that porn is very addicting and just like any illegal drug,it creates a craving for more and more, eventually making it extremely hard to break away from, even after it becomes life controlling. The fact that you find photos of almost naked men appealing should be a real danger signal to you, causing you to give up your magazine.Homosexual desires are easily picked up.The fact that almost naked women appear in magazines is a moral problem for them because the Bible does state that women should dress modestly. The fact that the women in your magazine dress almost identically to the men is still another problem .Just a few days, the Holy Spirit told me that women who dress like men are engaging in sin.The more you think about it,the more difficult a problem this becomes.Just one more major problem God has with our society! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What I believe Steve was saying is that even the bodybuilding men in the mags are attractive for their muscle. Steve is a bodybuilder to my knowledge and us bodybuilders look at the ones in the mags for their muscle and not llooking at them sexually. I definitely wouldn't worry about developing those yourself. I've loved weight lifting for a long time. I can't count how many women have told me (I used to train) that they fear looking like the women in the magazines. They didn't want to get "that big." Looking like the (bodybuilding) women in the magazines takes a long time and a lot of dedication. You have every opportunity along the way to slow down or speed up the building process. Just didn't want you to worry about looking like a guy. Denise

If i injected myself with steriods than yes because that is testosterone. As for the protein intake, it sounds like you are consuming way too much. If you consume more than what your body need then it will get wasted and could be stored as fat. Be careful!
