So, does that mean you think John the baptist was actually Elijah? :emot-highfive:

Wait! Don't answer that. :emot-cheering:

I don't think I want to know.

I'll just agree to disagree. :emot-questioned:

No, he was a type of Elijah, with an Elijah's spirit.

Okay, lets me see if I get your point:

The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy = a prophet = yes

but John the baptist in the spirit of Elijah = not Elijah, but a type = no

I understand a likeness for both, and both require faith, but neither is a direct hit.

You see a bunch of prophets, and I see a bunch of false prophets and teachers. We sure do disagree.

God bless

That's why I went back and highlighted it in red. I guess that's the beauty of it, I don't understand you either. :emot-cheering:

Maybe Jesus should have said, no one will deceive you, for prophets and good teachers will come and no one will be led astray. :emot-dance:

You aren't making too much sense. The essence/spirit of prophecy is a wtness of Jesus Christ...his testimony to us.

John the Baptist came full of the Holy Spirit in the manner or spirit of Elijah...what is hard to grasp there?

Relax, I was just kidding around in my previous post. We simply disagree. I'm sure it won't be the last time someone disagrees with either of us.
