Wait! Don't answer that. I don't think I want to know. I'll just agree to disagree. No, he was a type of Elijah, with an Elijah's spirit. Okay, lets me see if I get your point: The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy = a prophet = yes but John the baptist in the spirit of Elijah = not Elijah, but a type = no I understand a likeness for both, and both require faith, but neither is a direct hit. You see a bunch of prophets, and I see a bunch of false prophets and teachers. We sure do disagree. God bless

Maybe Jesus should have said, no one will deceive you, for prophets and good teachers will come and no one will be led astray.

The essence/spirit of prophecy is a wtness of Jesus Christ...his testimony to us. John the Baptist came full of the Holy Spirit in the manner or spirit of Elijah...what is hard to grasp there? Relax, I was just kidding around in my previous post. We simply disagree. I'm sure it won't be the last time someone disagrees with either of us.
