Now Rebekah was listening when Isaac spoke to his son Esau.

So when Esau went to the field to hunt for game and bring it,

Rebekah said to her son Jacob, “I heard your father speak to your brother Esau,

‘Bring me game and prepare for me delicious food, that I may eat it and bless you before the Lord before I die.’

Now therefore, my son, obey my voice as I command you.

Go to the flock and bring me two good young goats, so that I may prepare from them delicious food for your father, such as he loves.

And you shall bring it to your father to eat, so that he may bless you before he dies.” Genesis 27:5-10

But Jacob said to Rebekah his mother,

Behold, my brother Esau is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man.

Perhaps my father will feel me, and I shall seem to be mocking him and bring a curse upon myself and not a blessing.”

His mother said to him, “Let your curse be on me, my son; only obey my voice, and go, bring them to me.” Genesis 27:11-13

So he went and took them and brought them to his mother,

and his mother prepared delicious food, such as his father loved.

Then Rebekah took the best garments of Esau her older son, which were with her in the house,

and put them on Jacob her younger son.

And the skins of the young goats she put on his hands and on the smooth part of his neck.

And she put the delicious food and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob. Genesis 27:14-17

And the LORD took and clothed his own in robes of white righteousness .  That in HIM they would be made the righteousness of GOD .   And have new hearts wherein dwells the LOVE FOR TRUTH .      And those who are his , LEAPED UP WITH JOY and said,   TO THE LORD be all glory and no matter what we suffer  ,  whether we live or die , WE THE LORDS .

'And he came unto his father,
.. and said, "My father:
.... and he said, "Here am I; who art thou, my son?"
And Jacob said unto his father, "I am Esau thy firstborn;
.. I have done according as thou badest me:
.... arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison,
...... that thy soul may bless me."

And Isaac said unto his son,
.. "How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son?
And he said, "Because the LORD thy God brought it to me."

(Genesis 27:18-20)

Then Isaac said to Jacob, “Please come close, that I may feel you, my son, whether you are really my son Esau or not.”

So Jacob came close to Isaac his father, and he felt him and said,

“The voice is the voice of Jacob, but the hands are the hands of Esau.”

He did not recognize him, because his hands were hairy like his brother Esau’s hands; so he blessed him.

And he said, “Are you really my son Esau?” And he said, “I am.”

So he said, “Bring it to me, and I will eat of my son’s game, that I may bless you.”

And he brought it to him, and he ate; he also brought him wine and he drank.

Then his father Isaac said to him, “Please come close and kiss me, my son.” Genesis 27:21-26

Rebekah's cunning plan of deception addressed all of Isaac's four remaining senses except hearing. Hearing should have been enough for Isaac to discern the truth, but, as he had turned away from hearing God's Word with reference to his two sons, it was fitting indeed that he should have ignored hearing as it also concerned the words of Jacob. He was a man who lived according to taste, smell, and feeling. His eyesight had faded. Marshall Keeble used to warn people against going by "their feelings" in religion, saying, "If Isaac had stuck to hearing and ignored his feelings, he would not have been deceived." Coffman's Commentaries of the Bible

  27          So he came close and kissed him; and when he smelled the smell of his garments, he blessed him and said,

“See, the smell of my son
Is like the smell of a field which the Lord has blessed;
28 Now may God give you of the dew of heaven,
And of the fatness of the earth,
And an abundance of grain and new wine;
29 May peoples serve you,
And nations bow down to you;
Be master of your brothers,
And may your mother’s sons bow down to you.
Cursed be those who curse you,
And blessed be those who bless you.” Genesis 27:27-29

By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau, even regarding things to come. Hebrews 11:20

'And it came to pass,
.. as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob,
.... and Jacob was yet scarce gone out
...... from the presence of Isaac his father,
........ that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
And he also had made savoury meat,
.. and brought it unto his father,
.... and said unto his father,
"Let my father arise,
and eat of his son's venison,
that thy soul may bless me".'

'And Isaac his father said unto him, "Who art thou?"
And he said, "I am thy son, thy firstborn Esau."
And Isaac trembled very exceedingly,
and said, "Who?
.. "Where is he that hath taken venison,
.... and brought it me,
...... and I have eaten of all before thou camest,
........ and have blessed him?
.......... Yea, and he shall be blessed."

And when Esau heard the words of his father,
he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry,
and said unto his father,
.. "Bless me,
.... even me also,
...... O my father."'

'And he (Isaac) said,
.. "Thy brother came with subtilty,
.... and hath taken away thy blessing."

And he
(Esau) said, "Is not he rightly named Jacob?
.. for he hath supplanted me these two times:
.... he took away my birthright;
...... and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing."

And he said,
"Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?"'

(Genesis 27:35-36)
