I don't know why you pray, but I pray because I believe it's part of loving the Lord with all my heart, mind and soul, the first and great commandment. I also like to express my concerns to him and get his guidance.

Great.  I just enjoy being with the Lord and having fellowship with Him.  I don't treat Him like a vending machine where one pushes a button and out comes the spiritual horoscope.

In what way does it help to talk to him in tongues? Why don't you just talk to him?

Who do you think God is?  If the Holy Spirit inspires a believer to speak to him in a tongues language, don't you think that God would understand the language?

And, I to talk to God as Paul says:  I talk to Him from my understanding (mind), and I talk to Him from my spirit (tongues).  I am not like the guy who said, "I accept good King James English.  If it is good enough for Jesus and Paul, it is good enough for me!"

In other words, does your God understand only English?

Who do I think God is? He is my creator, teacher, and savior.

Then He is quite capable of knowing the mind of the Spirit, and understanding when the Spirit inspires a person to pray in his tongues language.

If you have something to discuss with the Lord, and Paul taught us to do that constantly, then I would think you would just want to talk to him about it.

If that is what you want to do for yourself, you are quite welcome.  No one is stopping you.

Jesus taught us the great and first commandment is to love the Lord with all our hearts, minds, and souls. I don't see how you can do that without constant prayer.

The fact that you keep repeating much the same thing to me makes it appear that you are attempting to proselytise me to your belief, and if that is so - end of conversation.

I think witnessing for the Lord is a worthwhile thing to do.
