Comparison is always second to context.

And when the context is in more than one book, it shouldnt be ignored. This is how I learn.

Daniel 12:4

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

There is an elegant simplicity to the Book of Revelation when it is read as written.

God's purpose in allowing harlotry and tyranny to eventually bring down Babylon is perfect.

Well, he offered to be to be Israel's king. They rejected him and now choose thier own. They were warned what would happen and what their king would do to them.

They reject God and everyone he sends to them. There's nothing more he can do. At least some of them come out of Babylon and return to the Lord.

Babylonian behaviour is inherently destructive to saints and sinners alike.

Best not to be held captive by the Mother of harlots and abominations of the earth whose counterfeit Christianity appeals to many.

It doesn't really have anything to do with a counterfeit Christianity.

It's apostate Israel.

It's who the Medes hate.

Jer 51:11

Sharpen the arrows, take up the shields! The LORD has stirred up the kings of the Medes, because his purpose is to destroy Babylon. The LORD will take vengeance, vengeance for his temple.

Ancient history pertaining to the literal, regional Babylon that was.

Mystery Babylon the Great, Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth is a spiritual entity supported by unregenerate humanity on a global scale and currently active today.

Really, ancient history? Can you tell me the year the city of babylon was destroyed?

Let's just see what the history books say.

Jer 51:11

Sharpen the arrows, take up the shields! The LORD has stirred up the kings of the Medes, because his purpose is to destroy Babylon. The LORD will take vengeance, vengeance for his temple.

Or perhaps I should just ask if you know the year the city of babylon  was abandoned?

539 BCE

The Fall of Babylon denotes the end of the Neo-Babylonian Empire after it was conquered by the Achaemenid Empire in 539 BCE. Historians also use the term Liberation of Babylonia interchangeably.
Date: 540 - October 539 BCE
Location: Babylon, Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq)
Result: Achaemenid victory, Fall of the Neo-Babylonian Empire

As prophesied:
Jer 51:60-64  So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that would come upon Babylon, all these words that are written against Babylon.  (61)  And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, "When you arrive in Babylon and see it, and read all these words,  (62)  then you shall say, 'O LORD, You have spoken against this place to cut it off, so that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but it shall be desolate forever.'  (63)  Now it shall be, when you have finished reading this book, that you shall tie a stone to it and throw it out into the Euphrates.  (64)  Then you shall say, 'Thus Babylon shall sink and not rise from the catastrophe that I will bring upon her. And they shall be weary.' " Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.
