The core principle of Christianity is Love. We can see the Love Principle
made clear in First Corinthians chapter 13.

Here are the characteristics of the Principle Of Love as presented in
First Corinthians chapter 13.

{1} Love is patient.
{2} Love is kind.
{3} Love does not envy.
{4} Love does not boast.
{5} Love is not proud.
{6} Love is not rude.
{7} Love is not self-seeking.
{8} Love is not easily angered.
{9} Love keeps no record of wrongs.
{10} Love does not delight in evil.
{11} Love rejoices with the truth.
{12} Love always protects.
{13} Love always trusts.
{14} Love always hopes.
{15} Love always perseveres.
{16} Love never fails.
{17} These three remain: faith, hope, and love.
{18} But the greatest of these is Love.

Threads on the Internet At Large are characterized by those 18
demonstrations of Love, aren't they?

There is not any hateful ugly squabbling, haggling, and bickering that
goes on between Opponents inside Thread World on the Internet
At Large, is there?

Inside Thread World on the Internet At Large there is not a never
ending Cannibalistic Feast of biting and devouring one another going
on, is there? Thread World on the Internet At large is not The Land Of
The Cannibals, is it? Rather Thread World is characterized by love,
kindness, compassion, empathy, sympathy, and a charitable reading
of each other's posts, isn't it?

Inside Thread World on The Internet At Large, there is hardly ever
any harshness, resentment, hateful criticism, denunciation,
accusations, loathing, disgruntlement, snide and snippy one-liner
responses to posts, insults, and generally unpleasant tones and
attitudes towards everybody that disagrees with each other on most
any subject, is there?

My prayer for all Internet posters:

May the Lord bless and keep you.
May the Lord make His face shine upon you
May the Lord be gracious unto you.
May the Lord turn His face toward you
May the Lord always bless you and give you peace
{based on Numbers 6:24-27

May God Bless Us All.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!  HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT!!!!!  I TAKE OFFENSE AT THAT!!!!!!  -  NO I DON'T -  just kidding . . . .

no offense . . . sorry . . . Just a bad Illustration.

I have noticed that when it comes to online posting, FB and elsewhere, people tend to hide behind their computer screens, or phones, and say anything they want to say, without taking into consideration just 'how' others will react to what they say.

It is almost like what a drunk person does when they are fully drunk, namely their tongue is loosed, and they say whatever pops into their mind, and don't consider the feelings of who reads what they have to say. Sometimes, they have a 'chip' on their shoulder, and want to fight. Sometimes, they have been hurt by people, and are taking it out on whoever will read/listen to them. Sometimes people just get frustrated and are irritable. Sometimes people just plain get afraid seeing what is occurring in this world. And yes, sometimes in this fallen world, life kicks us in the teeth, and we are reminded yet again about offenses that come to all of us.

Also, It is like my first line above in this post . . . people cannot see my facial expressions (I was laughing as I wrote it) and might believe that I was serious about what I said. That is why I had to say it was only a joke, not serious. It was just an illustration to help me communicate part of what I was  going to say.

My point is that even though we want love and compassion to be shown to us online, I have found that many times that is NOT what we are seeing. So, I do agree with you, and we will have to be mature enough to have our feelings hurt without taking the offense that goes with that sort of thing.  The fruit of the Spirit you mentioned above in 1Cor 13 is not only for the 'posters' of threads, but, also for us as the 'readers' of the threads.

Anyway, that is my 2 cents on the subject . . . . hope I didn't get too far off your subject . . . .

Grace & Peace . . . Ray . . .

Super great post Ray -- much appreciated by ne. You put some thought

into that and made some very good points -- a very helpful post.

Thanks for taking the time to write that up.

Here are some Bible verses that might, or might not,  relate in some way to the Opening Post?
_____

"Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore

that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other's

burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."__Galatians 6:1-2

_____

"Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance

leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come
to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them
captive to do his will."__2 Timothy 2:25-26

______

"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than

this: that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I

command. ___The Lord Jesus John 15:12-14

______

"If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each

other."___Galatians 5:15

_____

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God

forgave you."___Ephesians 4:32

____

"Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate

and humble."__1 Peter 3:8

_____

"Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual

edification."__Romans 14:19

_____

"If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with
everyone."___Romans 12:18

_____

"Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate

and humble."__1 Peter 3:8

_____

"Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they

produce quarrels."__2 Timothy 2:23

_____

"Keep reminding God's people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling

about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who
listen."__2 Timothy 2:14

_____

"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a

resounding gong or a clanging cymbal."__1 Corinthians 13:1
