We are dead to the reign of sin. And alive to the reign of righteousness.  But does not mean we cannot sin. As long as we are in mortal bodies. We can sin. So we have to walk by the spirit. We can still walk in the flesh if we are not careful.

Seems there are false teaching in some of this. People got to know we are not promise a sin free body just yet. Only at the last trump when in a flash we are change from immortal from mortal. And are glorified just like Jesus. We will be like him as he is. Perfect in righteousness.  That has not happen yet. I see a red flag on some of the things send on this post. Be careful how you divide the word of God.

If that be the case, how are we as His children doing?

Many are called but few are chosen. There is a difference between being a child of God and a part of the remnant that God is able to use. People who answer the call to the priesthood have to set a right example. "Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly." (James 3:1)  The melchizedek priesthood is a higher calling then the levitical priesthood.  To whom much is given, much will be required (Luke 12:48). Salvation itself is a free gift from God and not by works. There are works and people will receive rewards. Of course there is also going to be people that suffer loss. "If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved" (1Cor3:15) "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." (1Peter2:9)

God expects us to keep our body under control. You can not put new wine in an old wine skin.

Yeah I can because the old wine has been crucified with him...

Romans 6:6
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Well...you deleted the cells comment as if you never posted it... that would be a lie.

1 John 3: 4-10
4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. 6 No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him. 7 Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; 8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.

What does practising sin mean?
It is a habit of sin. Without any regret or self reflection. Without the Holy Spirit's conviction. Because the Holy Spirit doesn't dwell in that person.

I have experienced conviction by the Holy Spirit with certain sins. Even physically, of which I needed two weeks to recover from. The sin and conviction was crystal clear to me. But I don't have the habit of sin anymore, thanks to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. I have no worldly excuses anymore to sin. It is not by my own doing, nothing that I can boast about. All glory to God who saved me through faith in Jesus Christ.

Don't keep falling into the hole you dig. Get back to Jesus Christ, He is the only one Who can save you.

I have no sin.

Romans 6:2
How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

1 John is probably what you are referring to and I believe John is talking to the unbelievers in those verses.

If anyone one sins we have a advocate with the father.

Not at all. He is addressing born again sons of God.
