The man of sin

With a great falling away set to occur when the man of sin comes around (2 Thessalonians 2), I was hoping to get some opinions on what the truth is that a billion plus individuals will refuse to love is, and what the lie is that they will instead choose over the truth?

2 Thessalonians 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Simple.  

Do not be deceived by any man.  

Satan is coming as the "instead of Christ".  If you have not studied and so do not have the knowledge God gives us YOU WILL BE DECEIVED into believing that the antichrist is in fact Christ.  (the great falling away) (EVER wonder why "the church" is not mentioned through out Revelation?  Because Satan will deceive the world and so ALL the "churches" claiming to be of God, will NO LONGER BE OF GOD, having been deceived they will be OF SATAN.  So it isn't that the "church" is "raptured pre trib", it is EXACTLY as it is written to all the messages to the churches 

It isn't going to be through "A church" -  a group within the confines of walls or doctrines or any of the other things but it will be BY INDIVIDUAL MERIT.

 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;

He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations 

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.


When one falls for that deception, that the anti Christ is Christ, then though one may "believe" their love is going to God, the reality is it is going to Gods enemy.  We can not serve 2 masters.  HEART AND MIND.  KNOWLEDGE THAT BRINGS ABOUT FEELINGS, NOT FEELINGS THAT MAKE YOU "BELIEVE" you have knowledge.  

That is why the great whore is BABYLON aka confusion.  It is FROM the lack of knowledge and the teachers of false doctrine that make void the word of God.  

Earthly or Spiritual. 

The earthly man will look for Babylon as a location or person or entity here on earth on which to "pin" down an understanding.  


Satans kingdom is rising out of the nations of today setting up for what will be the hour of temptation.  They will come together when Satan is cast out and lands on earth and by then Gods truth will have been mostly lost.  Thank God for the two witnesses that will be there to turn the eyes and ears of those who are starting to fall back to the TRUTH before it is too late.  


Revelation 17:2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

Revelation 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

Genesis 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
 

Genesis 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Genesis 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

Genesis 11:8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

Words that many take as CASUAL, aren't. 

Many are taught "what they feel" or "what they say" will be all that is needed to pass.  THAT ISN'T WHAT GODS WORD SAYS, not by any means.  But that WOULD be the teaching of EVERYONE who would like nothing more than to see no one reading the Bible.  
 

Matthew 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Matthew 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Matthew 12:38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:


Ever wonder how this would effect say "a disappearing" of a billion people off the face of the earth?  Would that be considered a sign?  

Probably just another verse to be made "VOID" ,  must be super easy by now with all the others that have fallen victim to , well, anything that does that to them.  

Wonder what the "strong delusion" that is spoken of  RIGHT THERE?  

Lets see.  Gods Word says 
 "that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;"


A strong delusion WOULD BE 

"THAT DAY COMING BEFORE"

1Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

1Corinthians 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

"a billion disappear", a sign?  Certainly WOULD BE "for those left behind" wouldn't it????

The falling away is from God. 

They  (the faithful church of today)  are "overcome" by lies and deception and so "IDOLIZE/ worship" AN IMPOSTER, a pretender  (BECOMing UNFAITHFUL/A WHORE/with child) 

ALBEIT the best the world will ever know, one soooooo gooood that the time had to be shortened or else EVEN Gods elect would be deceived. 

If that isn't the slap of reality needed,  I don't know what is.

While I agree that we should overcome our carnal inclinations and that the faithful church of today will be overcome by the lie the man of sin will advocate for; more specifics on what this lie is that the man of sin will advocate for that will convert one billion plus currently claiming faith in Christ to renounce their faith in Christ's Way, would be welcome.

One hint I can provide is that the man of sin has numerous aliases, being also referred to as the beasts mouth, the little horn of the beast, the Antichrist, and the Abomination of desolation, which represent just the most relevant to this topic. As such, scriptures in relation to these other aliases for the man of sin will provide the truth on what the lie is that people will accept, while rejecting the truth, just so that they may continue to take pleasure in unbelieving.

Hi Moby, As with my response with DeighAnn, I agree with much of what is in the site you suggested to look at in regards to the mystery of lawlessness, but which also lacks in specifics as to the lie the man of sin will advocate that will have one billion plus currently who claim faith in Christ, to accept the lie while rejecting the truth.

Also as I responded to DeighAnn, the Lord does provide us with numerous cross references with the man of sin, whose other aliases (the Antichrist, the abomination of desolation, the beasts mouth, the little horn of the beast) provide the answer as to what the lie is, and what the truth is about the lie that many billions of people will reject, just so that they may continue taking pleasure in unrighteousness.

A second clue that I will now provide is that as we are aware the man of sin also represents little horn of the beast, aka the beast's mouth, then events associated in scriptures about the beast would correlate with those of the man of sin.

Yes Hopefully, Everything you have stated is correct, which has been rephrased by others here. These shortcomings of people, however, do not provide the answer as to what specifically the lie is the man of sin will advocate, that will turn a billion plus currently who claim faith in Christ  and what Christ stands for, to join in with billions of other non believers.

I agree Moby that it is many sins; but it is one lie that the pleasures for indulging in many sins will be based on.

Clue #3, it is the lie the beasts mouth/the man of sin will advocate for under the beast, that will have the whole world who are not written in the lambs book of life in adoration of the beasts mouth/the man of sin (Revelation 13:8), and is the reason why they will also be in adoration of the dragon and the beast (Revelation 13:4).

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Revelation 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
