Clue # 4, the beast who shall rise from the sea in Revelation 13, in allegiance with the beasts mouth who is the man of sin, is another description for the beast who shall rise from the bottomless pit, which means, so shall the beasts mouth/the man of sin, rise with the beast from the bottomless pit.

Clue #6 as to what the lie is that everyone who is not written in the lambs book of life will be in adoration of, while rejecting the truth so that they may continue to take pleasure in unrighteousness.

As the beast who rises from the sea in Revelation 13 is another description of the beast who rises from the bottomless pit in Revelation 9, the Lord then informs us that the plagues in Revelation 8 & 9 are due to the love mankind has for the things his hands produce (Revelation 9:20). If you can then interpret the metaphors for the plagues, you will find what the lie is that people choose when the beast rises from the bottomless pit (aka the sea).

Revelation 9:20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

This is going to take several paragraphs to explain what the lie is in association with the man of sin, that mankind will choose while rejecting the truth about the lie; which some here will undoubtedly deny, until these occurrences come about, and even then, there will be those here who will prefer the lie over the truth. There will be an apostasy, after all.
In Revelation 9:20 the Lord informs us that the plagues in chapters 8 & 9 are due to the love mankind has for the things his hands make/produce, from which man will not repent and cease from making/producing.

Revelation 9:20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

In chapter 8 seven angels stand before God who are given seven trumpets to sound and provide mankind warning illumination in regards to his actions. After the first four angels sound in chapter 8, one third of earth's environmental resources have been destroyed.
Realizing therefore, that it is what man does to create the products/idols he so worships today; the destruction to 1/3 of earth's natural resources is then realized caused through fossil fuel burning industries today.
The first angel sounds (Revelation 8:7), and 1/3 of all trees on earth are burned, along with all green grass. This last year we've seen greater levels of fire throughout the world, including Australia, Siberia, South America, and California; all of which, excluding Brazil, are attributed to global warming from increasing CO2 emissions primarily from industry.
The second angel sounds (Revelation 8:8-9), and a great mountain burning as with fire is cast into the sea, causing 1/3 of the earth's seas to become blood. Today due to agricultural runoff in conjunction with global warming, algae blooms, often referred to as red tides, that look like blood, are increasing annually throughout the world's seas and oceans.
The third angel sounds (Revelation 8:10-11), and a great star burning as a lamp falls upon 1/3 of earth's rivers and underground aquifers, causing them to become bitter and poisonous. Today, due to hydraulic fracturing (fracking) operations, ever increasing fresh water resources are being made bitter and poisonous.
The fourth angel sounds (Revelation 8:12), and 1/3 of the light from the sun, moon and stars is darkened, and do not shine for 1/3 of the day and night. Today, due to industrial pollution, along with automobile and other atmospheric pollutants, the light from our sun, moon and stars are considerably less luminous than prior to when the industrial revolution began.
Once the levels of environmental destruction are achieved on the earth, an angel flying through the midst of heaven declares in a loud voice: "WOE, WOE, WOE" by reason of the three remaining angels who have yet to sound (Revelation 8:13).
As this angels loud appeal indicates the last three WOE's producing more dire consequences than the first four woes produced by fossil fuels, and affiliated means; a star then falls from heaven to whom is given the key to the bottomless pit (Revelation 9:1).

This is the bottomless pit from which the beast shall ascend, which is another description for the sea in Revelation 13 from which the beast shall ascend, along with the beasts mouth, which is another description for the man of sin in 2 Thessalonians 2; who when he makes his appearance, the whole world who are not written in the lambs book of life, will adore (Relation 13:8), along with the dragon and the beast (Relation 13:4). It is the dragon Satan who is cast unto the earth (Revelation 12:9), who is the star and the angel of the bottomless pit, who will give the beast his power from the bottomless pit (Revelation 13:2), that will cause the whole world to adore the dragon and the beast for this power from the sea.
So, why will the world love the dragon and the beast for this power from the bottomless pit/the sea? If we go back to the end of chapter 8, we see that 1/3 of earth's natural resources have been destroyed through the use of fossil fuels. There will be greater levels of famines, wars, pestilences; all of which described in the Olivet discourse (Mark 13; Luke 21; Matthew 24), as the beginning of sorrows, before the Abomination of desolation makes his appearance, which is another description for the man of sin. Mankind who will then still not be repentant to the damage he is doing to the earth (Revelation 9:20) will more than welcome the power the dragon Satan will give to the beast and the beasts mouth, because mankind will accept the lie the man of sin, who is the beasts mouth will proclaim it being better than the former fossil fuels that will have caused so much destruction.
As we read in Revelation 9, however, we see that the power the dragon will provide the beast that causes its ascension from the bottomless pit/the sea is anything but benign in nature, and in effect is quite destructive. This is further corroborated by the angel, who when Satan is cast to the earth, along with his angels (Revelation 12:9), declares woe to all living inhabitants of both land and sea (Revelation 12:12).

We are now at the point where we recognize the power the dragon will give to the beast that causes its ascension along with the beasts mouth/the man of sin from the bottomless pit/the sea, basically follows mankind's desire to continue worshipping the things his hands produce, which if not produced by fossil fuels, then require another source of energy for industry to produce.
With the understanding that a tremendous amount of energy would be required in order to provide nearly all of mankind with all the material goods/idols they love; one such source of a virtually unlimited amount of energy (a bottomless pit), is from fusion, the same energy source that powers our sun and the stars.
Once the world is in the depths of chaos as depicted in the Olivet discourse (preceding the abomination of desolations appearance when he and the beast ascend from the bottomless pit/the sea); the dragon who has failed to make his systems work on the earth, is afforded one last go at making things work, and is given the key to the bottomless pit, which is the means to unlock access to fusion energy.

Fusion energy being benign in nature is the lie, the man of sin will propagate, that the vast majority of mankind, will be enamored with so that they may continue to take pleasure in not believing the truth about its destructive nature.

While I agree that we should overcome our carnal inclinations and that the faithful church of today will be overcome by the lie the man of sin will advocate for; more specifics on what this lie is that the man of sin will advocate for that will convert one billion plus currently claiming faith in Christ to renounce their faith in Christ's Way, would be welcome.

One hint I can provide is that the man of sin has numerous aliases, being also referred to as the beasts mouth, the little horn of the beast, the Antichrist, and the Abomination of desolation, which represent just the most relevant to this topic. As such, scriptures in relation to these other aliases for the man of sin will provide the truth on what the lie is that people will accept, while rejecting the truth, just so that they may continue to take pleasure in unbelieving.

A second clue that I will now provide is that as we are aware the man of sin also represents little horn of the beast, aka the beast's mouth, then events associated in scriptures about the beast would correlate with those of the man of sin. 

Yes Hopefully, Everything you have stated is correct, which has been rephrased by others here. These shortcomings of people, however, do not provide the answer as to what specifically the lie is the man of sin will advocate, that will turn a billion plus currently who claim faith in Christ  and what Christ stands for, to join in with billions of other non believers.

Clue #3, it is the lie the beasts mouth/the man of sin will advocate for under the beast, that will have the whole world who are not written in the lambs book of life in adoration of the beasts mouth/the man of sin (Revelation 13:8), and is the reason why they will also be in adoration of the dragon and the beast (Revelation 13:4).

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Revelation 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 

Most Christians already have a very unhealthy adoration for their smart phones as they stare at them constantly as they scroll through Facebook or google searches in their lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and the pride of life:

1 John 2:15-17  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  (16)  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  (17)  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

There will be many lies such as a fake alien invasion that is coming or the indulgence in the cashless system coming very soon that will cause many to fall away from Christ.

But there are already many lies causing many Christians to fall away even today such as the coercion to take the mark to feed your family, the lie of taking sorcery(Greek~pharmakia~medication) for healing, or the lie of unconditional eternal security that has spiritually killed many Christians:

It is not going to be one specific sin that is going to cause every one to fall but many lies woven throughout the tribulation for each Christian has different weaknesses:

As I have stated here in several posts; the Lord provides us numerous cross references in His Word to understand what is being referred to. If we know the man of sin is another term for the Antichrist, which is another term for the beasts mouth, which is another term for the little horn of the beast, which is another term for the abomination of desolation; we can then correlate the data the Lord provides us to understand what is being described. Rather than dogma, I have the Word of God and the correlations He provides to understand that the lie people will accept in association with the man of sin, who rises along with the beast, is tied with the events in Revelation 8 & 9.
And as I have also posted here, the events in Revelation 8, prior to the opening of the bottomless pit that shall bring about the rise of the beast along with the beasts mouth, aka the abomination of desolation, correlate with the Olivet discourse in which famines, wars, and pestilences are occurring prior to the abomination of desolation's appearance. Once again this is my knitting together the correlations in scriptures the Lord provides us to understand what is going on and why.

I think that all of us here in the Western industrialized nations are guilty of idolatry to some degree. These new tech toys that keep coming out makes all of us increasingly more in love with these things/idols. Once the dragon provides the beast with the means to attaining fusion energy, then the technological marvels, which the bible describes as sorceries, will increase exponentially, along with mans love for these things. We will then see a world comparable to that as in the days of Noah, and as in the days of Lot.

Your claim that the Antichrist is going to tell the world that he is Jesus Christ is dogma, without scriptural support. The day of Christ, when the Lord returns is clearly elaborated upon in the Word that the Lord will be seen by all of mankind across the world, at which point they will all be very sorrowful (Matthew 24:27 & 30). As such, how will a billion plus individuals who claim faith in Christ and what Christ represents, love, truth, and justice; going to go after someone on the ground who claims himself to be Jesus Christ? I have shown with the Word and without unsubstantiated dogma, what the lie is that the world, including a billion plus individuals who currently claim faith in Christ, are going to accept, while rejecting the truth, just so that they may continue to take pleasure in unrighteousness.

Jesus is testifying to the churches that sorcerers will be those who are without the gates into the city and have no right to the tree of life:
