From the fruit of a man's mouth his stomach is satisfied; he is satisfied by the yield of his lips.”. To know how to use the tongue is a blessing that the Creator promised to impart to Moses. Unfortunately, he lost this blessing when He tried to dodge His vocation (Exo 4:13). To be guided by the Holy Spirit is a privilege, since, as we will say only what the Creator teach us: 1 – hardly ever someone will hold a grudge against us. And, if the truth which goes out of our mouth makes him to feel offended, when he regain his mind, he will be very grateful to us (Prov 28:23). 2 – we won’t quarrel for the things of this world. We only quarrel when Jesus gets angry with the person in virtue of him are desecrating what is sacred (as when He overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves – Mat 21:12). If the person closes himself, at least, we gave opportunity for him to repent and convert (see 2Tim 2:25,26). About the fruit of the lips, this recalls what Isaiah prophesied about Jesus: • Isa 53:10,11 -> “Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.”. The fruit of our lips, although can bring us moments of discomfort, in the end, will made us happy. And this is our sacrifice of praise and life (Rom 12:1): • Heb 13:15 -> “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”. So, have a good day making your mouth to yield only what is profitable for the edification of those who are around you (Eph 4:29). 1
