If you seek (wisdom) as silver,

and search for her as for hidden treasures;

then you will understand the fear (respect) of the Lord.”

Proverbs 2:4-5

“Wisdom is seeing life through the eyes of God.”

 Amen! I also heard a teacher say that wisdom is the proper use of knowledge.

Very true

the same preacher went on to give the example that he had knowledge of how a car started but he didn’t have the wisdom to take apart a motor and put it back together again

I do love some Proverbs

12:1 is a good one

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but one who hates correction is stupid

Maybe the reason the teacher did not have the wisdom to take apart a motor and put it back together again, is because he did not have the knowledge to do so. Have a blessed evening.

The preacher was making a distinction that wisdom and knowledge were 2 different things, but sometimes the 2 go hand in hand

Solomon had wisdom, granted from god but did he have the knowledge to realize that allowing and becoming a willing participant in his many wives false idol worship would lead to the death of his kingdom right after he died? As it was split in 2 it would never be the same

Solomon was a victim of his own success a person that was good at giving advice but didn’t take his own advice and his would be the last time the tribes had peace as his son didn’t inherit his wisdom and listened to the wrong people causing civil war

do knowledge and wisdom go hand in hand? Sometimes yes but like the preacher says I know if I turn the key the motor will start but I don’t have the wisdom to take a 6 cylinder apart 😂

I have heard it said that wisdom is the proper use of knowledge...speaking the right words at the right time, so as to contribute in a positive way to the verbal interaction with someone.
