Is Matthew 7:12 the golden rule? How to obey it (Part 2).

Perhaps you will argue: “but he never will ask it!”. Look at this:

•    “If *you then, being evil*, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him?” (Mat 7:11).

Jesus was clear:

•    “And Jesus said to him, Why do you call Me good? *None is good except One, God* .” (Luk 18:19).

And Paul completed:

•    “Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities. For *we do not know what we should pray for as we ought*, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” (Rom 8:26).

The truth is that:

•    “‘So says Jehovah, *Cursed is the man who trusts in man*, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Jehovah.” (Jer 17:5).
•    “*The heart is deceitful above all things*, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jer 17:9).

We can’t even trust on ourselves. After all, if we are good to cheat ourselves, how much more people around us. If you still think that you are good, ponder: who is the greatest culprit for everything bad that came over us? It is ourselves, with the bad choices that we do. Many times, Jesus put hindrances so that we can tire of our ways (see Hosea 2:7; Isaiah 5:5).

Notwithstanding, as in our mind, we think that we are running after “bread”, “egg” and “fish”, our propensity is “to fight against the king that comes against us with 20.000 soldiers, when we have only 10.000 for us” (see Luke 14:31). Nonetheless, in this case, the desire of the Creator is that we renounce ourselves and our desires, and give in to Him (see Luke 14:33).

Instead of asking Jesus and biding for His good, pleasant and perfect will (see Psalms 37:7; Rom 12:2), we end up seeking and eating the “stone”, “snake” and “scorpions”, even suffering toothache (trying to grind the stones), poisoning, torment (see Rev 9:5). We prefer to punch Ha-Satan's door and break into his solution.

And the worst is that, many times, for mercy, the Creator sends His angels to hamper the door from opening and we, in virtue of so much stubbornness, we end up overturning the door and following toward the hell.

And to think that many people suppose that it is the Creator that send someone to hell! He allow many handicaps to hinder people to go to there, but they prefer to overthrow all of them to go ahead.

So, does it mean that we should to look down on Matthew 7:12?

Tomorrow we will answer this question. For the nonce, have a good day.
