Any more quitting experiences, ppl?

I’m surprised you’re still asking this. I scurried to the last page looking for an update.

Me I quit smoking in 2016 by vaping and I still vape. I did quit even vaping for 2 months but stupidly started again.

Smoking is more than an addiction to nicotine, it becomes -sooner or later- fully integrated into every aspect of our lives, both emotional and psychological.

When an urge to smoke hits you, you have to understand why you are desiring a cigarette, what personal need you have been filling with a cigarette, and develop a new non smoking behavior in its place.

One of my largest obstacles was using cigarettes as an excuse to take a break from working and just do nothing but relax for a few minutes for the simple sake of taking a break to relax.

Hi @FJK Glad you were able to rationalize it...... Thanks for the comments.

@FJK Some ppl have found vaping a viable means to get off cigarettes; and then the nicotine content can gradually be cut down to nothing, with a bit of determination.

(Others seem to assert that vaping simply replaces one problem with another........)

I actually don't consider it much different than smoking as a habit, just a maybe a little less harmful to your health.  In any event, if someone is trying to quit altogether I'm in favor of anything that works for them.

@FJK Like you say, if it works.................

I don't buy any 'smoking/vaping isn't lady-like' idea; a lot of women especially want to quit smoking and if vaping truly helps to cut down......

@Hopefully Going the vaping route can help to cut down on the nicotine levels, step by step, right?

I quit smoking years ago with God's help. It was either that or I wouldn't be here to talk to you right now.
