In revelation 11,we read of two witnesses of Christ who kill and toment other people.Ive heard great claims by people that these two witnesses are sent don't from heaven by God to judge the ungodly and to torment people with plagues even though scripture doesn't say God sent them. But what scripture does say is that their Lord was crucified in the city where they die.Now if I'm.right and their Lord is Jesus Christ, then wouldn't that mean they are called christians by our standards?

Revelation 11:8

Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified.

So why do we call ourselves christians when our Lord was crucified but we don't call these two christians?

Yes, it says that God will "appoint My two witnesses" not that they were sent from heaven. And I'd not thought about it, but it would certainly seem that there's not a good reason for not calling them Christians (with Christ living in them) and therefore could/should be called such.

Why not just call them what they are called in the Bible without trying to interpret them into who and what we want them to be instead?

God works in many ways, some of which are entirely different than we may think they are or will be.  Don't put restrictions on God or you may miss out on his works because they are done in a way that is outside of those restrictions.

Then you would call them witnesses as Jesus said of his disciples.

So are disciples to go out into the world tormenting other people as the two witnesses do in revelation?

If so,I haven't made a very good witness so far.

It is said that the righteous are tormented by evil but the wicked are not. (From one of the Jewish texts)

But the day is coming when the evil will be tormented by the good and it is just as possible that those two olive trees will be from among the Jews as from Christians, maybe Enoch and Elijah as some think, or in my opinion they could even be from among the Angels, coming in human for, and not necessarily humans at all.  Angels have been used to witness to humans on earth before, and God may intend to use them this way again in the last days.

Or it could be that these two witnesses are being used by someone other than God.

I doubt it since they were given power by God, someone other than God would not be able to resurrect them after their deaths and call them up into heaven.

Who said they are given power from God?

Just because your a Christian doesn't mean God gives you the power to kill and torment other people in Jesus name.

But there is a king in the north who can give them the power to smite the earth as often as they want and also the power to cloud seed in the middle east so that it doesn't rain. And if they want to kill their enemies, all they have to do is say the word fire.

The Bible.  You'll find it written in Revelation, the part abut the two witnesses, if you're interested.

I'm not sure what premise you're trying to establish here . . . Are you saying those who are tormented don't deserve this treatment?

There are enemies on this earth and they operate through men who cooperate with them.  Some men will not repent no matter what kind of witness of God they are presented with.  The book of Revelation shows this many times over - God gives men an opportunity to repent; they don't; God steps up the severity; some still won't repent; God steps up the severity some more; some still won't repent!

The good news in this is that God's actions do cause some to repent and turn to Him, and therefore be saved to not go down with the devil and his angels.
