Perhaps we're dealing with something similar. Maybe God, whatever his ultimate form, is sufficiently abstract as to be incomprehensible to our minds, hence we have easier to conceptualize "pointers" that point to the underlying truth, each in their own unique way. Im not seeking specific answers to these specific questions; these are examples intended only to inspire answers to those who would like to contribute to what is certain to be a variety of perspectives. I’ve had different thoughts and perspectives over the years. Thought it would be interesting to hear how others reconcile, or just deal with, this particular doctrine and others who may think differently. Please don’t post tons of scripture as your response, I’m looking for your personal words… you can certainly work scripture into your response; if fact, it’s best that you do, but it’s up to you. I'm not calling God an octopus but nature can reveal things. If an octopus can have nine brains and three hearts, I don't see why God can't have three brains and three hearts yet one Spirit. It means unity, not singularity. It is also used in Genesis 2:24 in referring to a husband and wife being one flesh. A husband and wife are not one as in a singular being. Rather, they are in unity with each other. There is a Hebrew word that means absolute singularity, "yachid", which is not used anywhere in the bible to describe God deity. Yahweh (One True God) in an interlinear bible states several times in the Old Testament that He alone is God and that there is no other.
