Funny how sanctuary cities are sanctuary cities until they have to do the actual sanctuary part.

Look at it this way: They asked for it, they got it, now they find out what it was they were really asking for and don't want it so they want to put it -the consequences- on someone else instead of themselves.

That's how I'm seeing it.

The real question is will voters learn from their mistakes or suffer from voter insanity? I.e. will they vote the same and expect different results?

They won't, they'll find a way to blame their problem on someone other than themselves.

"It's not my fault" is a rather popular excuse to avoid personal responsibility for most people in all sorts of situations, it seems to be base human nature.  (A topic in itself)

So after all that has been said in the past, I wonder if the local authorities now would like to obliterate the words on the Statue of Liberty...

...................

Poem on Statue of Liberty, New York City, by Emma Lazarus (1849-1887):

"Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc.

..............

Maybe now replace them with words such as: "Not in my backyard"..........

Well, a remain in Texas policy is being put out there. Can't have the remain in Mexico, or remain in Venezuela, but Texas.

Maybe if the US did not have such a stringent sanctions policy towards Venezuela (whose oil the corporations want), then the economic shortages which drive some of the emigration would not be as acute: it's a rhetorical and practical boomerang, so to speak.

What is driving illegals is open borders. They are coming from all over the world.
