As I recall, his focus was on the day-age theory, to explain the age of the earth.  He gave no Scriptural support.  Just an opinion (theory) about how the earth could be far older than Adam, all from 'the six days'.

He ignored the meaning of the key Hebrew words in v.2, which are found elsewhere in the OT where their meaning is clear.

If he quoted Scripture to support his theory, I must have missed it.  What stood out to you as reasonable evidence for his theory?

I'm all about the earth because that's the focus in Genesis 1.
