Could we all ready be there watching time catch up to us? Nothing, including Heaven, is outside of time. The only "thing" outside of time is God. Think of it this way: Heaven, as it is now, is nothing more than a temporary holding place. It was created, thus it has a beginning and according to the Bible it will also have an end. This means that it exists within time. It is my belief that those there feel the time pass and realize that time is passing. So no, we aren't up there waiting for ourselves

Not sold on mine either but it is interesting to ponder.

All of creation exists on the same ontological plain; it is all created. Thus, it all has a beginning meaning it is not outside of time. It has a beginning point. Here is an illistration God <-----------------------> Notice there is no beginning or end. The reason for this is that God is self-sustaining. He has no beginning and thus, it outside of time. Anything that has a beginning must exist within the spectrum of time. Heaven Created---------------------------------------> Because heaven has a beginning it now exists within time. Sure, it may not be the literal 24 hours that we know as time, but make no mistake, it is not a timeless place. Time does pass as it exists within time. Because it exists within time, we are not sitting there waiting for ourselves.

Guest shiloh357
Since Heaven is outside of time , and he has caused us to be seated in heavenly places. Could we all ready be there watching time catch up to us? The answer is no. Eph 2:6 And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus: What Eph. 2:6 is talking about is identification. We who have accepted Christ are identified with Him in his death, resurrection and his current place in Heaven. The key is "In Christ Jesus." What which is true about Jesus regarding His righteousness before the Father is imputed to us, meaning that it is credited to our account. On the basis of our faith in Christ Jesus (v.5), we are placed into Christ. He is in us, and we are in Him. This is what Christianity is all about. It is all about becoming one with God by virtue of our union with Him in Christ. We are joined to God's family, we become His children through Christ. What is more, we are not sub heirs, we are "joint heirs" with Christ. We are treated as the first born of the Father. We are not literally in heaven "waiting on ourselves." We are identified with Jesus who IS in heaven.

With in the realms of time? If it has always existed then it is equal with God. It would make heaven self-sustaining and without a need for God. In other words, God would be no difference than the greek gods if He merely inhabited Heaven and didn't in fact create it.
