They need something more in tune with how we speak. That is common sense. Let's get them sacved and into the churches where their thirst for the Word will increase. I do not disagree with trying to reach the unsaved and unchurched with a new translation fo the Word. God is certainly speaking through them! We can't limit God...He has preserved His word for this time in history.

Personally, I wonder if this is in effect what is ailing our Christian walk. http://www.pawcreek.org/articles/endtimes/...eGoldenCalf.htm The effects of Warren's/Peale's/Schuller's writings are detrimental to the true message of the Cross. Comments? discussion? FC I read "The Purpose Driven Life", only because a friend insisted, saying it was "life-changing". As I turned the pages, I kept waiting for the "life-changing" part---it never came. Warren is not impressive. My reaction was basically, "yeah, no, no, ok, yes, yeah, no way, you've got to be kidding, yeah, ok, no, etc.". I was bored all the way thru. It's watered down Christianity. He's just another guy with good marketing skills trying to make a buck off sincere Christians. Aside from my intellectual impression of Warren, I also had a gut reaction of not trusting him. He feels like a snake oil salesman. Peace, Fiosh

The Bible's the only life-changing book I've ever read. Maybe I should read more.

And to the OP, if you want to know what Rick Warren has to say, go to his own site and read his own words. Don't make your judgements based on other web site's opinions. I have spent hundreds of hours in that 3 years in research. Read countless Papers, and interviewed people. And I have to say at the end of it all, hand on heart I believe what Rick Warren teaches is "another Gospel" and as such poses a threat to the Church of Christ. I preach in local churches sharing some of my findings from that 3 years research, very often people are disturbed because they never knew what Warren really teaches. Sorry, but I think the "Purpose Driven" "Sinner Friendly" movement is Strange Fire.
