There were millions of men, women and children, people over the ages who have died, and who are now living in the depths of Asia, Africa, Tibet, India, South America, Australia and China, to name a few who have never heard of Jesus Christ, God, or ever saw or read a Bible, or met a minister of any Church. If this were not true, these statements by Paul would not have been made.

Paul stated in Romans 2;12-16 that God will do right by every man according to the light he has recieved. He said, "For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (For not hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the meanwhile accusing or else excusuing one another;) In the day when God shalljudge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel."

Ignorance does not save or excuse a person from hell. If this were the case, then sending missionaries and obeying the great commission would be the cruelest thing any of us could ever do.

O.k. then lets put your argument to the test. "Ignorance does not save or excuse a person from hell" then what about the profoundly handicapped adult who dies in their sleep at the age of 40. They couldn't read, write, or even comprehend what a person was telling them, because at birth the umbillical cord was wrapped around their neck. Are you going to tell all us that peron is going to hell??

These particular cases are people who never reach that normal age of reasoning. I trust that God considers them babes and that their souls are "under the blood". I have no trouble with that whatsoever. God doesn't make it hard. It's the able-bodied, thinking individuals that make it hard.

If all people know of Christ, then the missionary concept is void. What is a Missionary? What message do they bring? Why do they bring the message to countries whom they claim "haven't heard..."?

Ignorance (to be defined as having the capacity to accept Christ but never hearing/choosing to do so, thus excluding those who do not hold proper cognitive skills) does not save people. People, at one point, denied Christ/God and now their descendants are having to pay the consequences of it...welcome to a world of sin...

Some people believe that if indigenous people never hear the truth, then God will not hold them accountable. However, my problem with this point of view is if ignorance saves a person (or protects them from God

Ignorance as in "unknowing". IF you don't think G-d ever destroyed people who were ignorant, then you haven't read the full story of G-d telling the Children of Israel to wipe out whole nations ( who had not been preached to, or offered a chance to repent ).

Shalom

Next example, what about the people who were on earth way before Jesus Christ and Gospels? They of course are ignorant of the word, because there wasn't any word yet. This argument that ignorant people can't get into heaven doesn't hold water. Only God knows who is going to heaven and who isn't going to heaven. But one must remember God is a merciful God and ignorance lowers ones culpability.

Hebrews 11:3....if they didn't do that, they weren't saved. Simple as that.
