The Purpose Driven Life is a good book, especially if you read the Scriptures that each footnote represents.

"When CHRIST Comes" - Max Lucado...........nuff said :read:

I have that one on my bookshelf, I'll have to read it ... usually around Easter I like to read Max Lucado's "And The Angels Were Silent"

Mel:

I'll be stunned if you don't like it!  Also, based on one of our pm conversations I took you up on buying a Bill Hybel book. :t2:

If Bill Hybel is as good an author as he is a pastor, you're in for a treat Wisdom.

Melanie/martyr:

"The GOD You're Looking For" is the name of the book.  Mel had spoken to me by pm about how much she enjoyed Pastor Hybel during a trip to his church.  I trust her judgement.

You're right martyr.....I believe from all indications I will! :read:

Glad to hear such good reports on "The Purpose Driven Life"...sounds like I will like it also.  It's one I just got and will be starting with within the next day or so.  I thumbed thru it when it arrived (ordered thru Christianbook.com) and it seems really good.

I also got a book called "The Day of the Saints" by Bill Hamon.  Talks about the restoration of the church in preparation for the end times...I'll plug a reply in when I read it.  I've heard good reports on it from people I know and trust, but I want to read it for myself and form my own opinion.

I want to get some of these other books that have been showing up in this thread and read them...right now that's just not possible to invest that kind of $$ into books with a wedding to plan and everything else that's going on.  Maybe after the wedding LOL

Hey Bill, why not just do a bridal registry through CBD?  I tried to get my wife to do that, but she thought we needed dishes instead.   Oh well, it was worth a shot.
