Most liberals think of themselves as morally superior because they are addressing issues that are moral dilemnas. The problem is that they only address it emotionally...and because they are creatures of emotion anyone who disagrees with them is "heartless". This coming from the anti-intellectual, anti-science right. The right wing in America is solidly at war with mainstream science, mainstream economists, and anything at all even remotely pragmatic and you guys then accuse liberals of being simply emotional. I do not think that liberals are the ones trying to frame our foreign policy around a fundamentalist interpretation of biblical prophecy.

I don't know Marnie, every time there is talk about raising the minimum wage, the right wingers start hollering Doom and Gloom: "It will be less jobs", "It will mean inflation". Every time someone discusses the war on terrorism all you hear from the right-wingers is doom and gloom: "civilization is at stake", "don't you know they want to slaughter us all because of our freedom",

The first two are right. We don't need to throw all the environmental laws out, just the rediculous ones, the ones whose real goal is to take more of our money. I am, in fact, neither since leaving the Democratic Party in the early 80s But, yeah, I used to drink the koolaide of liberalism and socialism before understanding the tactics of their manipulation

Guest yod
I don't know Marnie, every time there is talk about raising the minimum wage, the right wingers start hollering Doom and Gloom: "It will be less jobs", "It will mean inflation". And those are economically proven facts historically. Why can't that be included in the debate? Because it is framed emotionally as if disagreeing with that failed policy is akin to bigotry or hatred. Baloney. Every time someone discusses the war on terrorism all you hear from the right-wingers is doom and gloom: "civilization is at stake", "don't you know they want to slaughter us all because of our freedom", Do you think that fighting Hitler was a "good" thing? How many brave Americans lost their life doing that? Hint: More on the first day than we've lost in years of Iraq. How many idiots thought he would go away if we stuck our heads in the sand? Many on this site have sons in the war (including me) or have served in the military themselves. These soldiers consistantly give a different picture than the liberal media or Democrats paint. Fox news (the only conservative television outlet) gives their story a place to be heard. Too bad the libs don't like it. They should take it up with their leaders who ALL voted for it. If gays get married in Massachusetts all you hear from the right-wingers is marriage is under attack, why it will be the end of civilization as we know it and pretty soon men will be marrying their dogs just because two lesbians can tie knot on the east coast. Where does it end when Pandora's box is opened? If you can explain that with historical evidence, we'll listen. Unfortunately for you, history tells a different story pretty soon we will go the route of Sodom and Gomorrah because we can
