Why? His primary audience was JEWS. All the discussions of Christ in the gospels are in regard to the Second Advent. Paul reveals it to the Church for the first time in the epistles, which is why he says "I show you a MYSTERY" The first resurrection has two primary compartments: 1) the Church, 2) Israel; and two separate judgments at different times, the OT prophets make that very clear There isn't a problem in understanding eschatology when you keep Israel separate and distinct from the Church, which is how the Bible is clearly laid out, and that's where so many people get crossed up. It seems to me that you are allowing your eschatology to determine how you interperet the text. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Daniel 9 Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy. YOUR PEOPLE, not the Church! why is this so difficult? why is when I ask why God needs to supernaturally convert 144,000 virgin male Jews at the outset of that seven year period, no one has a logical response (other than denying the 144,000 are literal Jews or similar semantics)? the problem in the Church today, in terms of eschatology, is a lack of understanding and appreciation for the importance of, or just flat out ignoring, the OT prophets...focusing almost entirely on Revelation and the gospels Grace to you, Can you find for me the very same Tribes that are in Revelation 7 in regards to the 144,000 enumerated and categorized the same way that they are there anywhere else in scripture? P.S. The Revelation of Prophecy centers around Jesus Christ and God's redemptive plan now revealed not the Church or the Jewish people. Although both are very large players in it. The Revelation of Prophecy centers around Jesus Christ and God's redemptive plan now revealed Zechariah also reveals God's redemptive plan for Israel via the Messiah, again emphasizing the strong focus on Isreal at the time of the Second Advent...the Church is nowhere mentioned in fact the Church is nowhere mentioned after Revelation 3...and I believe the 24 elders in Revelation 4 are a picture of the Church in heaven, casting their crowns before Christ No? So how do those tribes now become recognized as Physical Israel? Especially when Physical Israel never ever fit that description? Just a question. How do the 24 Elders fit the bill as the Church?
