Come on now! I'm just 30 and I remember watching him. As a matter of fact, he ran on CBS until 1985 and then on PBS for another 6 or 7. Gosh, that's hard to fathom!!! I remember him, just don't remember the details of the show. We didn't get cable until 1983? or so, and until then the channel he was on was fuzzyish.
